I know this game isn't all that well received by others, but back when I was a kid I thought this was the epitome of video game mastery. Okay, I was a KID, but still, this game introduced me to the world of gaming that I'm now in today.
I don’t care how repetitive the music is. Whoever produced this soundtrack is amazing!

SpongeBob's first 3D platformer! I had fun with this one as a kid! I especially remember the music by George Alistair "The Fat Man" Sanger! Some places like Sandy's tree and the High Rise apartments were fun to jump through with SpongeBob's net.

I got this game for Christmas, I can't remember which Christmas it was, but I knew I was very young and when I unwrapped it, I'll never forget the feeling. My eyes lit up and a big grin came across my face that it only could at Christmas time. I played that game all the way to the end, probably the best experience playing a video game I've ever had. it definitely helped that I was a big fan of SpongeBob at the time!
This was one of the first games I’ve ever played. I remember I played this when I was 4 (the age I started playing video games) and I enjoyed the hell out of this game. Hell, I remember when my brother told me about a TV Ad for another Spongebob game where he saw you can play as Spongebob, Patrick, and Sandy (Battle for Bikini Bottom) and gasping harder than I ever have when I heard that because I was so excited for a new Spongebob game to come out after I played Revenge of the Flying Dutchman. Good times, I miss the Early 00’s so much. Great time for Gaming!!!

I'm glad you upload this gameplay. I really absolutely loved it as a kid when I used a PS2. it was challenging for me as a child because I couldn't read lol. But times has changed a lot and looking back really brings back the satisfaction and good old memories

I remember playing this back when I was in elementary school. I couldn't understand a single word of this game since it was in english only and I'm german :D. But that didn't matter at all. I remember when i was 7 yrs old and came home from school turned on the pc went on youtube and just watched this game play for 2 days.
When i was young i always did something multible times like watched videos multible times over and over or played that 1 lightning mcqeen game for a whole year not having the time to complet the game cause i didn't have a sd card where i could save my progress.

very odd, because the memories seem almost dream like, but i can recall very detailed specifics, like what i ate and did. thats probably because im still a teen now, so those memories are from a time where everything was different to me

Tony Salvaggio Really? What was it like working on the game. I had heard the reason Blue Sky got to use the Spongebob IP before Heavy Iron was because of how quickly they were able to make the gameplay engine. Is that true? And I also heard this game is what caused Blue Sky to go out of business.
I enjoyed it! I just wish there were more outfits as well as using them all more in general, I will say that I think the overworld models and textures for the enviroments look much higher resolution and properly textured than the enviroments in Battle for Bikini Bottom though the character models in BfBB look better.
What would be nice is if The 3 main console spongebob games with an original story (Revenge of the Flying Dutchman, Battle for Bikini Bottom, and Creature from the Krusty Krab) all got the N.Sane/Reignited treatment with remade visuals and improvements to level design and gameplay.
But hey, a man can dream. Overall, hope you're still able to work on games and whatnot despite Revenge of the Flying Dutchman not doing too well.

Maybe he was busy with a different job at the time.

I loved the treasure hunting parts as a kid
I remember playing this before I even knew how to read. I would get hard stuck at Goo Lagoon and got bored that there wasn't anything to collect so I just restarted the entire game lol. Probably did this a couple times because I have vivid memories of the first couple zones but I hardly remember Goo Lagoon and I only barely knew the Dutchman's Graveyard. Don't think I ever even beat the game.

I love this game. I used to play this one with my brother when I was younger (we took turns playing and would switch off from time to time) on gamecube and it was fun. The golf target part at chum world was difficult for us. I was would fall off the bridge/side. Also I don't remember Larry being so rude. I just I just didn't notice it back then. Anyways, thanks for playing this, I enjoyed watching it. :)

It's been 18 years since this game stopped working. RIP Revenge of the Flying Dutchman PS2 copy. 2002--2004. Cause of death: Loading glitch.
The last time I played this game was 8 FRICKING years ago and I STILL didn't pass Chumland. WHERE TF IS THE TILE FOR "catch plankton if you can"!?!? XDXDXDXD

This is giving me war flashbacks. I hate this menacing game. It’s horrifying, extremely unnerving, unsettling. But I never beat it, and now, at 20 years old, it is my civic duty to finally complete this game. I just unburied both it and my GameCube, and my immediate plans are to purchase another memory card and beat this unholy game. (Battle For Bikini Bottom is perfect, so upbeat and not eerily dark, very good game. Only this one gives me the creeps)

Remember playing this when i was 3, now im 12... I miss this game. And im from Sweden so i didnt understand much but it was still fun.
shame the loading screen glitch ruins the whole game on ps2 version. why Big Sky never bothered to fix the ps2 version is beyond me.

Samuel Garcia yep and I'm thankful I tried the GameCube version instead of the ps2 when I did this longplay. It was my first time trying the game. Unfortunately for them, I think they lost the ability to make future spongebob games and it was given to heavy iron who produced battle for bikini bottom. That's my all time favorite kids game.
After the ps2 fiasco (angry fans even wrote death threats to BSI, they immediately shut down. im glad heavy iron didnt make the same mistake as BSI on the ps2 version of BFBB (good game tho i have yet to play it). i mostly played CFTKK as a kid. :)

I can't really understand how some people couldn't get any farther then chum world. I got the ps2-version of the game when I was 5 at a flea market and I live in Germany. I couldn't understand any word at all and even though the manual was german, I was too young and couldn't read. This game was just trial and error for me. I found it strangely fascinating how the voices in the game sounded completely different for my 5 year old me. I played it through several times at this time.
It's just an interesting feeling to only get the plotline and all dialogs more then a decade later...

KillShot Nation oh man that sucks. Bfbb is one of my all time favorite games. Luckily a used GameCube and these games aren't too expensive at the moment on ebay. I'd say it's worth it if you have the funds

This is the oldest game I have it's so old that the music glitchs sometimes
+Robotic Fox im thinking the glitching music is either a scratched cd or ps2 version

My game had the same issue. I don't think it's a scratched disk/being old, I think it was an error in how it was made. It was a good game but not polished at all with a lot of glitches/errors like that, kind of adds to the charm IMO.
I used to play this all the time :,)
