The fact of the matter is that people who do steroids usually fall in three camps, top athletes in sports where there are massive financial incentives to do so with no alternatives (UFC, Baseball, Crossfit), fake natty influencers like Mike O'Hearn or recreational lifters who you see at commercial gyms to where you can't even tell that they're on shit. USAPL tests 10% of their lifters at every meet they do, the reason most of these tests come back clean is because most people involved in drug tested powerlifting have no incentive to cheat. The mid-20s amateur powerlifter with a 350 DOTS score is likely not spending thousands of dollars a month to be the Nebraska State Champ. John Haack is the only untested powerlifter who has had a long career. Everyone who competed in untested powerlifting circa 2015 in the untested side when I first got into the sport has fallen off the map. Steroids are not good for longevity, otherwise Eric Lilliebridge would still be competing. Meanwhile David Ricks is still squatting 600 lbs in his 60s.
Why does everyone, who claims most athletes are clean, assume steroids are expensive and that is what keeps ppl from using? 10 mins on google and you'll find it's cheaper than most brands of protein. They don't do out of comp testing and athletes in sports that do test out of comp juice their brains out. The "natural" guys are out lifting known users. How does that happen? The freaks are playing other, more lucrative sports.....
To your point as well, a lot of the natural powerlifters I know are staunchly natural. Like it's a badge of honor. They are adamantly against steroids because they think steroids do all the work for you and that they'd not feel accomplished if they used them. I truly believe most if not all of the top tested powerlifters are actually drug-free.
@@radalexander7160 Mike O Hearn is a staunch natty. The rock is a staunch natty. Simeon panda is a staunch natty. Also it is incredibly easy with some research to take short ester compounds and supportive drugs and piss clean in a short time period such as one to two weeks.
Steroids can be done completely in control and in the long run and not get caught. There are way too many examples who never got caught and admitted after.
In contrast to the fake natty, has anyone ever seen a fake enhanced person? Like someone who tells you they're on steroids but they're so weak and small that you believe they're lying?
I do believe drug free powerlifting at the top levvel is cleaner than pretty much any other sport, not just because of the testing procedures but because there is actually also a non tested alternative so it does not make sense to cheat...just switch federation...
Ehhh, I mean there are nations in the IPF that hardly test on a local and national level. (Middle eastern and Asian countries) Weightlifting still has a huge doping problem and they are in the Olympics.
@@craighendricks2994 yeah and they get popped all the time. it's a meme in oly that getting popped is a rite of passage. in powerlifting it would be shocking if even one top guy failed a test

Whaaat? No fucking way. They get tested so they can't possibly be on. No athlete in any sport has ever gotten away with cheating for years. Also these guys consistently tell everyone they're natural, even when no one asks, so they're obviously natural.
many sprinters, many oly lifters get popped. basically nobody gets popped in PL. is that because they're all better at cheating than the chinese government, or is it just a much cleaner sport
This is wildly delusional...these guys actually know better😆 Its cool to protect your buddies though👍 I literally know people at the top in IPF and the people around them all know theyre on this and that... definitely not at the level of untested but its extremely far from drug free. C'mon guys...
Honestly who even cares. Unless you are some kind of phenom freak who has the natural strenth to be competitive at the top level in a fair playing field, the difference between you and the guy squatting 900lbs is not drugs.
