Hello, my Revox A77 MK4 won"t play back fast and rewind is good but when I hit play nothing happen , capstan motor runs very smoth by hand do you suggest that I should replace all RIFA caps ? also the tape sensor lights is out that controls playback function ? Thank you
Hello I replaced with new 3 boards: control board, speed board, power supply board and the 3 capacitor run motor and capstan won't work .@@harveysvintageaudio
Maybe the capstan motor is at fault, do you have a spare one ? Or a wire is loose somewhere. Hard to work out without the unit in front of me. The capstan motors are normally very reliable.
The capstan looks ok a wire loose or not getting 27v to run it , I can replace parts but not a electronic expert ,left with a technician now waiting on the findings. thanks@@harveysvintageaudio

Change all Rifa caps first thing, then check the relay board. Also one of the large motor run caps could be bad.
