I recently tested the Noio. I really liked how it handled in the surf and flat water. I would recommend this wa’a. 💯💯💯🤙🏽

Do you find that the knifey bow eliminates bow wave, and thereby softens or gets rid of the "hull speed" phenomenon completely? All the really old hulls (back in the 90's) seem to have more bulbous noses, and have a sudden and defined transition into planing mode, but harder to connect the dots out in downwind conditions.

yeah for sure, knifey entry is all about eliminating bow wave. Helps a lot at medium to slow speeds. Moving the weight back compared to past designs keeps bow from diving/stuffing. Flatter sections allow for rocker and maneuverability in the surf -- and we minimize surface area penalty by keeping mid section round.

and not to be taken out of context, good at high speeds too, just not as critical of a design decision for people who'd be in the top 10 no matter what. imo

What is the purpose of the dimple in the nose of the haul

How about the weight limitations of the paddler? Kahele, Cantere, built for lighter (under 160 lbs) paddlers. How about the Noio?

Similar to the Pueo, it does pretty well for a wide range of paddlers. 120-200 is great. Above 200, we can modify the iako and it’s good. Above 230 or so is possible but we have less experience and testing. Imho, going shorter is the wrong decision for overall efficiency. Some benefits, but our goal is to as fast as possible for most people in any condition.

    How to install rudder?

I need to make a video. But in short, rudder in the hull. Plastic washers until flush with square part, attach t-bar, lock washer, and lock nut. Tighten with wrench. If there's too many plastic washers it will get tight and not turn. If too few washers it can slide up and down.
