Hole Dweller basically created his own genre within DS. What a legend. This is an absolute masterpiece and brilliant addition to the Jamwine Saga. May it never end!
This in addition to Duskgreeter and the newest Quest Master EP are showing a lot of experimentation, and more than, artistic mastery. 2023 may end up being the year of Dungeon-Synth.
That 80s cartoon fantasy synth-wave style is pretty cool . Brings a more lighthearted tone around it . Not really atmosspheric but it has that nostalgia charm behind it .
My favorite album of the year. Sounds different from the usual music Hole Dweller makes. More personal and emotional. Lots of feel in those compositions.
I'd very nearly put it in the kids on bikes catagory. It's almost like the wistful summer nights of youth, through the fantasy lens of their AD&D campaign.
Predominantly good, clear and modern sounding dungeon synth. Certainly good enough to keep listening from start to the end. Album is consistent and skillfully mastered. Oddly enough i really like Mountain Fade and A Thousands Lakes tracks and i generaly dont like piano tracks. That subtle beat and well placed synths makes it great. From more synth based tracks i like Cold Hearth track.
More on the vaporwave and synthwave side of things, very melodic and good, just not exactly what I look for in dungeon synth. It even has those typical synth ''trumpets'' that were so common during the 80s.
I think that's indicative of some dungeon synth since some folks were influenced by the work of Tangerine Dream, especially their film productions in the 1980s on Legend, The Keep, and Firestarter.
Thanks DSA for uploading the album! Always happy to be a part of this channel. Hope you guys enjoy the new album.
Awesome atmosphere, very pesimistic. I wonder what were your inspirations making this one.
@@yaroslavboyko3464 pessimistic? Maybe more just reflective and somber.
@@holedwellermusic Yeah man,the first track is super uplifting
@@holedwellermusic My bad bro,i just noticed that i wrote pesimistic, instead of omptimistic 😅 Sorry
@@yaroslavboyko3464 all good! Thanks for the kind words.
By far the best album of 2023, any genre. Bar none. Music will never be the same.
sitting on the sunny coast listening to this masterpiece and summer slowly creeps into the Scottish Highlands. Magical.
The 80's influence is beast here.
Wedding synth =) great work!
Some real Tangerine Dream vibes, a la Legend here, and a bit of Trevor Jones scoring on Labyrinth.
I hope this artist gets the opportunity to create the score for a film sometime.

I love Hole Dweller, This is really reminiscent of Vangelis, I love it.
My inner synth-connoisseur is overjoyed.
His most melancholic work. Beautiful
I'm gonna run so much tabletop RPG sessions with this album as ambient music. Thank you
Up and Over is unreal! Leveled up the entire genre.
Great album, it's melodic as hell and the production slaps too! Opening track is stuck in my head now
Melodic as hell is a great description. Now I want more melodic as hell dungeon synth albums
Awwwww yisssss.... Gonna play this for our DnD campaign today!
definitely one of my favorites, its stuck in my head
absolutely brilliant
This is beyond magical! It is saintly!
that was amazing! Im writing a story with help of With Dreams of Hereafter
superb
Love that cover art!
Man I need this as an CD album ...
* Letting Everything Go * is the most beautiful Dungeon Synth Track i have found by far 10/10
If Hole Dweller releases one album a year, we can expect to have at least other 60 albums.
Mountains fade and The tide of spring are two beautiful songs, big like from Hobbiton, New Zealand 👍
shit's lit!
I do not take enough naps in mushroom circles. Mad comfy. Never enough Hole Dweller out to satisfy me.
I’ve only heard the first 30 seconds and I’m already in LOVE with this album!! 🤩
Same impression. Never heard of this artist, -- but: GOD DAMN, this is amazing, -- and the visual art, too: what a treat.
Holy fuck bruh the new Hole Dweller dropped 1 hour ago!
Awesome stuff, as always from this artist. We need more Forklift Operator!
It is so beautiful! I am in love with your music!
Hole dweller is the king of modern DS
Really splendid...!
Damn that ending was dynamic as fug!
This is amazing.
Good lord this is amazing
This is a real treat, thank you so much Hole Dweller, this fills my heart with joy

wunderbar
That first track pulled me right in! amazing!
Same.
Passenger is a towering colossus. Could easily be the main theme of a horror movie score.
yooooooo this is amazing
I'm going to use this on my next gloomhaven session
RIP neil peart
This was great

Reminds me of The Golden Key, by George Macdonald.
This is like.
Dude the part at 6:33 is sick
Is there a name or a way to categorize this particular variant of Dungeon synth?
Man, this has become one of my favourites
That's a good point. Well, I think we can categorize it like "Retro Epic Dungeon Synth"!
I feel like the name should take into account that this is all clearly inspired by Tolkiens work.
I mean, just look at the artwork.
@@Rollitman_Nostradamuz I think that finding a name that is connected to Tolkien's Legendarium is too limitative.

shivers
It's like this genre was made for DND.
That last song has got some Mega Man X5 vibes

Hole Dweller is usually good.
unusually good, heh
yum not yuck
That bendy sound on all of these is horrible. Why would you think that would be listenable.
It's subjective. Personally i like it even tough it is not my usual style in dungeon synth overall.
do NOT listen to putt putt joins the parade
@@levitatingoctahedron922 sounds enticing though
Yeah it's weak. Back to depressive silence and gothmog

sounds more like a 80s tune that should be on the news before the caster starts talking about traffic
