Pnong language belongs to the Mon-Khmer Group of the Austro-Asiatic language family.The Pnong, another name is M'nong who live in the provinces of Dak Nong and Lam Dong province, the central highland of Vietnam.
The Pnong cultivates rice on swidden fields, using working tools. In lowland, they let buffaloes to step on the rice field before sowing seeds. Hunting and gathering are important aspect of their lives and also Pnong people respect the spirits that they do ritual for buffalo sacrifice appreciating the spirits of forest, fields, earth and the heaven.
