Hmmm. My grandma used one of those to iron clothes! I remember seeing her do it when I was just a very young child. She heated it in the fireplace. She had to use pot holders to handle it, and lots of ironing cloths to to keep it from touching the clothes and getting them dirty. So much work! Also , she sprinkled water to create steam to get out the tough wrinkles.
To achieve the rough paint texture on glass (or any other surface), you mix chalk paint with baking soda. The ratio is usually one to one, however, if one wants a rougher finish, just add more baking soda.
Loved your comment about “happy trees”, a nod to Bob Ross. I painted exactly one oil painting using his technique back in 1986 and I still display it in my house today LOL. I just wanted to see if I could do it.

If I don't find a comp on ebay, terapeak I research on Replacements. I have spend many hours researching patterns on their site. If I find something there, I consider their price as full boat retail, take off at least a half or maybe 2/3 depending on the piece and if they have any or not. Fun finds! I found some Villeroy & Boch Amapola dinner plates today when I was out. Good enough condition to buy for $1.50. That pattern is a great seller.
Don't you just love when you get a color vibe?! It makes a display look so much better. Whenever I am lucky enough to have a color grouping in my booth, people seem to shop more because it's somehow pleasing to the eye. Arghh can't stand the suspense if that bear lid fits the glass jar!😊

I would have kept the bunny, the black teapot, and the amethyst glass bowl for myself! They were all really cute. An internal Crack or flaw doesn't really matter to many collectors who just want to display something and not use it. I'm glad we all have different tastes though or I would never find anything good! 😸😸💜💜

I named my daughter AYNSLEY. And I collect some for her, not often cheap. NOT CHEAP. I had to save up for the tea leaf cup. (and it even has a small crack). Yes I did name her as the China is spelled, otherwise my husband would not have known how to spell it. It's seen the name gain in popularity and also, end up spelled so many ways. Go for the China.
