Please keep making these videos! I’d love videos going over your shop in the background what all the machinery is, what items you can do without or what you cant live without, things you wished you’d have known before diving in, favorite tools, ect... I would also love a video explaining the different types of screen printing and the pros/cons of each one... I can’t say enough how much you keep my attention over ever other person describing screen printing on youtube... I could listen to you all day. Thank you!
I applied to a Print Art Screen warehouse job and one of the duties is to clean the screens, I want to be prepared and show them I've done research. They may have their own method of cleaning the screens but I want to have knowledge of the materials and tools that will most likely be used to clean the screens. Thank you for this!
I clean print screens for a living and gotta say, the emulsion remover and then spraying it down with a pressure washer 👌👌👌 I swear there's nothing more satisfying 😌
I am considering making my own screenprinted tees to offset the cost of hiring a 3rd party printer. I"m curious if you have a general estimate on the cost of making a shirt via the methods described above?
Once the screen has been prepped for printing, that design can be kept to make the same tees over and over again, correct? Even year after year, such as for a graduation or birthday? What would be the process for printing multiple tees in a session? Trying to soak it all in!
Also thank you! Those two videos gave Mr alot of insight on weather I should do it or not and you know what it seems like a fun thing to do! Especially with all this quarantine stuff happening ! Hope your safe and thank you once again! Maybe you can make another video of how to add more then one color??
Sorry i have a question, like if i want to still have the same Design but i just want to clean the Screen is it okey if i do with just water and clean it with old t shirt or something? Thank you!
Looking to de-badge a safe I bought that has a screen printed design I'm not too fond of… any recommendations on removing the screen printed logo that won’t damage the painted surface of the safe?
Cool, I'm working as a screen printer on a 15 head press, Many times I will actually leave the ink in the screens overnight to come back the next morning to run a job. You mention how leaving the ink in the screens for too long can make it hard to remove the ghosting. This of course would apply when reclaim is done by hand. But could you tell me if it applies to an automated screen tunnel? We're printing shirts on a very large scale and so we need to reclaim screens at a very large scale as well. I'm just wondering if I'm doing some ignorant damage to someone else cleaning the screens by leaving the screens overnight, 🤔 or maybe I'm overanalysing it all.
We used to leave ink in screens sometimes for months without any issues. We used to degrease the hell out of the screens though. Usually let is soak on the screens for a few minutes if not more and usually never had any ghosting problems with certain colors. But if we did we hit the screen with xylene and that would take care of really anything.
Hi there Awesome videos!! I have had screen print T-shirts made where it looks and feels like the ink has "dissolved" into the fabric and then others where it looks and feels like the ink is "sticking" onto the fabric. Is this due to the type of ink being used? If yes, what type of ink would give the "dissolved" effect?
Hi I can help you with this question. The difference in feel is due to the type of ink used. The stuck on feel is from plastisol ink, which is essentially liquid plastic (sort of) that hardens on top of the shirt. The dissolved feel comes from discharge/ waterbased ink. These essentially re-dye the shirt with whichever color ink you're using.
