Lovely machine. That section of the Autobahn between 6:20 and 8:20 or so looks so modern and well engineered compared to UK motorways, especially the tunnel. Not silly traffic levels either
No brainer to get the 40d over the 30d but in the UK at least you can no longer order a diesel 4 series with everyone going for the 30e due to company car taxes being lower for hybrids a big market for BMWs.
a bit noisy, you hear the traffic and every bump. But you don't speak so it's hard to tell the reference. I think Mercedes is better damped with their air suspension and I like to hear music while driving and then I don't want to hear the car/environment.

I don’t think so. 40d is 340ps. A difference of 54ps is quite big

That should be way below 250 km/h on GPS! Did you test it with GPS?
AutotopNL tested it and found out that new BMW's usually are limited at 244 km/h GPS. But this only could be a "problem" in Germany... 😅
