The constant travelling, meaning that I wouldn't be able to ride whenever I wanted for the hell of it, is one of the biggest reasons I never took up racing, along with a lot of the faff that comes with an average race weekend!
This video shows how modern pros are media trained to death, so careful to say the right thing. I do miss the wilder personalities and spirit of riding 20 years ago.
Ya i feel thats just how people act in general. Everyone knows what they say can hurt them in court so you either say nothing or say words that mean nothing or your just built different
It touches on something... Because nowadays most pros had wealthy parents who put them on skis and bikes at 5 with the best teachers in the best environment and the best equipment... I used to love watching professional MTB in the 1990's because people from all sorts of background and weirdos came together. Now it's just another sport. Still fun but not the same.
Now take semipro privateers and weekend warriors; It's all bad you have to really be some sort of masochist to ruin yourself with overpriced crap for all pain no gain... 😂
Start your own business, and never work for a pay cheque. Unless you are a silverspoon athlete and/or your Daddy and Mommy are wealthy the probability to own a roof is near to nothing.
Pinkbike chooses to listen to Henry and put his point of view forward. He's a snake oil salesmen and doesn't know how to ride a bike so he's a bit salty...
Would you love to be a pro mountain biker? What is your dream sponsor? 🤔

No. I'm not mentaly equiped for the constant traveling. Do you have a moment to talk about our lord and savior Pizza?

People praise Shaun Palmer as the last of the rawest dudes, in fact he was the first marketing show in the business 😂
I really enjoyed that ladies answer about the pizza, such an honest and straight forward answer haha
Surprised not more of them didn't say not having to worry about getting my bike fixed, cleaned, or waiting for parts.
4:49 did you even watch the video…
@@HUKIT. I said not more not none.

5:30 best answer 😅
Pros..not having to pay for overpriced bikes, parts and other equipment
Free food
Best thing has to be not have to wash your bike :D
Step 1: get pro
Its a fun job but its still a job. Many were not sincere

Don’t waste your time, and go to school instead. Being a pro mountain biker is a recipe to failure.
🎻
So you say working a boring underpayed 9-5 job would be better and more enjoyable for them? 😂

Or if you're clever enough, be a successful MTB pro then bring out your own range of MTB related products. Mr Peat I salute you 🤙
Despite what Pinkbike thinks, I would never ever want to be a mtb pro. God bless those who do though, I love watching em. 🤙

I knew my love of pizza would get in the way of me turning pro 🙄😂
So happy to see female mtb pros featured!
🙌🙌🙌
Oh boy the DEI representative is here with the bs of feminist equality.🙄
Is that pro rider RICH PINE?!?! 🌲
😂 No it looks more like Pitchard Rayne
Now every time I eat a slice of pizza I’m going to think about how much luckier I am than the pros
😂
5:08 😂😂😂😂
So you must lack humour or wit ! Got it 👌🏼
