I was too young to understand the depths of the lyrics of this masterpiece of Mehdi Hassan back then. Thank you Bayaan for taking this timeless anthem to another level which make patriots and rockers like me cry their hearts out with joy! 2:47 onwards was 'goose bumps city' for me. Yaar kya gaya hai, Asfar. Kya Khoob gaya hai! A brilliant modren retelling of the classic by Mehdi Hassan. This to me has all the echoes of the history, yet it feels of today which is why the emotion coming through is so strong. There is a sadness reminiscent of what we have gone through over the last few decades but still maintains the sense of ownership, of belonging and the hope of the original in spades...hope for a better time to come. Beautiful guys, just beautiful.
