My Dad is 82 and suffering from Parkinson's as well. He ate a diet of minimal vegetables. In fact, he hated them. If it was green, it wasn't on his plate. Couple that with a non-stop amount of sweets (cookies, ice-cream, etc...). I checked his freezer just last weekend. Four containers of ice-cream. Bags and bags of Mom's home-baked cookies. He lost most of his original teeth by 24.
I cut all sweets/carbs from my diet June 13th this year. Pretty much Eric B's Keto list and 2 meals a day (11am and 4pm). My wife and I started this cold turkey. Full in. I'm 6'0" height, 55 years old. Starting weight 203. Now 179 and dropped 1.5-3 pounds a week. Never had more energy and mental acuity! All my stomach problems (GERD, burning, etc...) gone. Completely! It all revolves around Insulin folks. This is THE SOLUTION.

I watched as my Dad suffered from Parkinson's Dementia. Sadly, he ate a very high carb diet, bread being a staple. For those who have relatives struggling with this hideous disease, take heed of what Dr. Berg is saying. It will make all the difference. My Dad passed 3 years ago and this information, I believe, would have greatly benefited him.

I really appreciate the information here explaining the problem in detail and what can help in the diet. I am going to start immediately implementing these changes into his diet. I also plan to watch every single video you have done on Parkinsons Disease. Parkinsons (aside from the great and wonderful Michael J. Fox) is a disease that does not get enough attention, or research to help find a cure or even just to help. I really really really appreciate you taking the time to help people like my husband . I can assure it it is VERY much appreciated. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!!!

Question ; what has Michael j Fox done for Parkinson’s outside of awareness? Sincere question. My father passed 4 summers ago from complications w the dopamine he was on for nearly 2 decades. They also really thought a lot of MJF and donated much for nothing as nothing useful ever came from him or the foundation as his disease also like my dads just slowly progresses to the grave. 😢

I take the amino acid L-Tyrosine with my morning coffee.
L-Tyrosine is an important building block for dopamine.
You may have digestive issues affecting your absorption of tyrosine and other nutrients.
L-tyrosine is lipophilic (mixes with fats) so I mix it in my coffee with cream.
The cream is fat and stimulates bile secretion in order to digest fat soluable nutrients.
Tyrosine is also a major component of thyroid hormone - together with powdered kelp that I encapsulate, I recently shed 8kg over winter...

There is a definite gut connection to it, my friend who had Crohns disease as a child, and required an ileostomy bag later on, developed Parkinsons disease. I doubt any dietary intervention could ahve helped him because he couldn't really absorb nutrients efficiently. His tremors became so bad his sister signed him into a care facility, he became so distraught he took his own life.

Something I'd really appreciate to be included in these videos would be an indication if the benefit of certain foods is still present if they are cooked, or are only present if they are raw. Take tomatoes in this video: is the farnesol still present in cooked tomatoes or tomato ketchup?

Depends on the compounds but quick search on google shows it has boiling point at 113°C at 1 atm so it probably can degrade if cooked too long. Most vegetables are better eaten raw to get most of vitamin, antioxidant, or other good chemicals for the body.

Ash....check out Dr Zsofia Clemens On Biohackers lab. Also Dr Berg has interviewed her. From Paleomedicina. She says if diarrhoea it is caused by the protein not the fat. So.....up your fat and lessen your protein. In fact she recommends eat the fat and rendered fat as well. It has helped me in that department.

DR Berg I am not exactly sure how to contact you so I will try on here. I just turned 48 in July but in May I had 2 non stemi heart attacks 4 stints placed then in July I broke my right ankle I have been basically stuck inside all summer. My problem is now I am starting to try and move around more but I have no muscles in my calves I have been overweight but my leg muscles have always been in great shape I guess from carrying the weight but I literally can't even flex my leg muscles now or if I do nothing happens, how do I know if this is calf muscle atrophy or is that even a thing, if so what do I do I am really starting to get scared and worried about this?

Dr. Berg!! - Quick question... Around 7yrs of age, I experienced a sudden loss of hearing in one ear. We've been told it could be due to a few different possibilities - too many "wellness check" pokes at one time or possibly the use of laughing gas for a dental procedure that was done around the same age. I did also take a pretty strong blow to the head on that side as well, though it was more frontal than on the side. Whatever the cause, I was not born with it and it was not a gradual development. It came on suddenly around this age. We have often been told it is nerve damage but at this point, I don't know what to believe out of those doctors and what not to believe. Obviously, if I could afford the more expensive procedures, I'd be willing to try them, but I don't have that kind of money. Someone recently told me that Iodine can be used to help regain hearing loss. I have searched for solid information on this and I have yet to find something solid. Any chance you could do a video on hearing loss and how to heal this while also hopefully gaining your hearing back? I'm willing to try anything I can afford - which is not much but I'd sure give just about everything I have if I could have my hearing back.
