Ektara - Sadhguru and Pt Jasraj on Hindustani Music [Full DVD]

  • "Ektara - a single-stringed instrument. Legend says that at Shiva’s wedding with Parvati, sage Narada introduced the groom’s lineage with a single note of an ektara - the closest expression of the primordial “nothingness” that is Shiva.
This video presents a rare exchange between Pandit Jasraj, a paragon of Hindustani music, and Sadhguru, a living embodiment of the spiritual sciences. Throughout, Panditji’s voice soars, dips, and pirouettes in tandem, taking one to the very edge - where creation ends and Creator begins."
    #Sadhguru
Yogi, mystic and visionary, Sadhguru is a spiritual master with a difference. An arresting blend of profundity and pragmatism, his life and work serves as a reminder that yoga is a contemporary science, vitally relevant to our times.

My journey is like all city kids. Picked up western music and guitar. Played for rock n blues and jazz for years. But in the search of being one with the music i realised that the classical music of our country is such a easy way to connect with your mind and body. It doesn’t uneccecarily disturb or create unnecessary fluctuations of energy. This is the sound of being one with nature.

this stuff is very true, difference in air presssure/ humidity/ particle density during day and night affect the way sound waves travel in air. Furthermore the changes are heightened in different seasons too. Even the music therapy subject is most likely real, for ex Raga Darbari Kannada has been used to heal patients in the south!

Its very true that after weeks of meditation u do start to like indian classical music. I do meditation every morning and i also listen to indian classical music most of the days. My brother and i liked western musics. But after medidating i started to dislike western music and indian classical music suddenly became very important to me. I only listened to them when i was alone. Because i was ashamed to play it infront of my family as they thought it was cringe. But now i play it infront of my family. My brother still likes western music. I tried to make him understand the importants of meditation. But i failed. He was so addicted in gaming that he sometimes would not listen to me. But he was still impressed by the hindu philosophies but he was too lazy to do meditation. I am not trying to say that western music is bad. I still listen to western music sometimes. But after listening to indian classical music all the western songs started to feel very similar.

When Creation starts with vibration aum sound is there.
Can u kindly say, what role of light or jyoti there(bcz whole shastra is full of jyoti only)?
Is it before or after sound or at a time

It isn't necessarily aum sound, it could be whatever you want it to be, it could be ram it could be amen, it could be something else.
