Bro, you should be on the Olympic/World champships & diamond league commentary teams on the TV. Real talk! Go and do a course on media/tv presenting and get the lead anchor slot. Imagine how interested the guest athletes would be just taking to you, and more importantly the audience, us 😁👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼
Gm. Tqvm for your research, analysis & summary of this report👍. And now I pass the question to you, will he take the course & get the anchor role? How far will he go in this career? Share your thoughts & comments 😃
Race commentary is a tough business cause it’s on the spot which is very different from collecting yourself for a whole video . With some training I think he could do it
She has such beautiful running form and makes it look so easy. Look at how high her foot comes up behind her when she runs. A strong indication of strength and speed.
Gidey accomplishment is simply amazing :) She's in her early 20's and the skies the limit for her. Her 44:20 15km I agree may be the greatest record by a women ever. Her last 10km in 29:13 is just incredible. This means her first 5km she ran in 15:07 and 14:36.5 for each of her subsequent last 5km's. 15:07/14:36.5/14:36.5 come on man! This is the greatest run in women's history :) The future is hers. She has the potential to run a 2:10 marathon with her strength and speed and, she's only 23 years old! plenty of time to improve.
I was waiting for you to make a video about this! So few people realize how truly remarkable that 15k race she ran was. I wasn't surprised at all to see her break the 5000m WR because the iaaf scoring from her 15k race was equivalent to a sub 14 5000m. It's going to be so exciting seeing what limits she can push for women's distance running! Thank you for bringing more attention to what this means for the sport.
Thank you for featuring her she deserves more recognition for her 5000 metres world record which was greatly overshadowed by the Joshua’s men’s 10000 metres world record.
Total Running Productions: Congratulations! Your analysis and comment are excellent! Letesenbet is just a girl by now (Only 22 years old!), but she is astonishing. She will be the first women in the history to run 5.000 below 14 minutes and the first woman to run 10.000 meters below 29 minutes. Besides she will win the gold medals of these races in the 2021 Tokyo Olympic Games. She will be the first woman to get that aim. She has an elegant and natural way to run. Besides she is a gorgeous and exotic woman, so humble and sweet. She is a gift from Ethiopia to the sport world. But, I am not sure if she is from this planet...😜
@Archie Bunker STFU, first of all, I can run a 4:34/km pace for 10k (I’m not saying this is good but I can definitely run faster than 20min/mile) and secondly I was complimenting Gidey on her improvement.
I believe with such amazing performance, she will be the greatest runner of all time by adding 10000m and Marathon to her current 5000M world record. I love her style of running too. I wish you the best, my sister.
I love Letesenbet probably even more than Tirunesh and I really did love Tirunesh. The 10000m world record is definitely on for Letesenbet along with a few other world records. She is the best of all time even before she becomes the best of all time. I wish she was my girllfriend
@@kennethobikwelu2326 With the advances made with shoes and especially how much the wavelights helped Gidey's and Cheptegei's pacers, I don't think any distance WR is untouchable right now. I thought Bekele's WRs were untouchable, but they got stomped. Now, Ayana could undoubtedly have run faster with these wavelights (she did her WR in a freaking Olympic final!), but she didn't. Then again, she only ran like, what, one or two races a year? I always thought she was slightly sketchy, but yes, her fitness was otherworldly.
@@chambeet but with wave lights regardless... she will have to go flat out for the 10k on track... you maybe right that with pacers and the lights.. Gidey has a chance..but ..that Ayana's record looks unreal.. Also note that for Gidey's 5k WR.. she pushed herself to the limit and vomited for a while. Also.. you are right.. if Ayana ever gets healthy and uses those lights and pace makers... she will break her record. One more thing to add... Ayana's record was/is soo impressive because she did it at AN OLYMPIC FINAL... not world championship, golden league...she raced against herself.. I find myself watching her race periodically. Lastly, I don't think she is sketchy.. she always complained that her coaches hed her back from competing at a lot of events...heck it took a while before they allowed her to try the 5k
Thank you for your videos. I don't understand how you pump out high-quality content within a few hours of each other. You got me back into running again
This guy videos brilliantly put together and I don't even do or have ever done athletics but love all the facts he comes up with and the way he makes you realise how insane some of these records are
Of course Daichi Endo might have also just been having a slightly off day...so I don't think its quite as simple to just extrapolate his PB's to a possible future time for her...but yes...still an interesting analysis
The personal best of Endo in 15k is 44:21 The personal best of Gidey is 44:20. So i think probably Gidey can take those numbers in half maraton and in 10k.
On the World Athletics scoring system the world records that get the most points are surprisingly not Flo Jo's records. They are predictably the women's throwing records for shot put and discus. The shot put record scores 1368 points. Just dismiss all the women's throwing records which were all achieved with steroids and should never have been allowed to stay on the books this long. For legitimate records the most points are for Jan Zelezny's javelin record which scores 1365 points. For all running events the top scores are for Usain Bolt's 100 and 200 world records with 1356 and 1351 points. So Gidey's 1319 points for this incredible run don't seem to compare favourably, but it is the best ever distance running performance using these charts as the standard measurement and I really like this guy's analysis and comparison with other top women's performances (and that one poor Japanese man who was beaten by Gidey. The charts aren't very generous for the women, but that is because women still are further away from their potential (which is what 1400 points suggests). Her 15 km run and her recent 5000m WR in a year where they all didn't race much (a down year) suggest that she will be able to beat Ayana's 10,000m WR easily in the next few years (well, not easily. I'm sure running 10,000 m at that pace will never be easy, but she might beat it handily by 10 or 20 seconds). She really does have the most beautiful running stride of any female distance runner ever.
That's because athletes are scared to put everything on the line when it counts most. Sometimes when you attack the competition head on from the start, you get rewarded.
I never tire of watching this wonderful video of such an incredible athlete. Just watched again soon after she become the World 10,000 metre record holder!
Would have been nice to see Ayana receive help with the special shoes and pace lights. Still the greatest female distance runner for me for what she did in that Olympics
Why do so many comments call Gidey “underrated”? Especially since her 5K WR, there is little doubt in the running world that, barring illness or injury, she will go on to become one of the all-time greats of distance running.
Not sure if Ayana can make it back in time. By October last year, she had a recovery setback. But we know Hassan will dropout from the 10k if Ayana is in true form
I read about her, she is missed in Ethiopia, living in a conflict zone 😥 I don't remember well, but last year in Spain she have to race but she doesn't appear in the airport
Extrapolating based on her beating Endo in the Dutch 15K race to his best 10K time is a stretch, but interesting food for thought. Gidey is on GOAT trajectory nevertheless.
Her running technique is a thing of beauty.
