    Would you recommend buying 10 to 15 year SGS bond? Do i calculate my gain based on cut off yield or coupn rate? Thanks.

    • @joshconsultancy
      @joshconsultancy  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I haven't bought before SGS bond (which is guarantee principle at maturity by SG gov) and i wouldn't suggest it over SSB which has guarantee in principle at all times.
      Gain calculation if its premium about $1 after listing

    Great financial advice! Thanks Josh. Btw, is renting out the inheritance property a good idea to consider too as this option is not mentioned.

    Buy a free hold landed home? Then do not worry about the lease problem. Actually as think of it, the most expensive is house/car. Once these 2 are settled, all your income now is for daily expenses,which can be quite reasonable. For example, just do a relax job for 5k per month, and that is all you can enjoy, can be a good life.

    • @joshconsultancy
      @joshconsultancy  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      $1.5M may not buy a landed home. Plus there is higher upkeep costs?

    Does it make sense to do VHR when interest rates are so high? Or should we only do it when risk free interest drops below 2.5%.

    • @joshconsultancy
      @joshconsultancy  ปีที่แล้ว

      I think the move on VHR is more of to prevent it from being squandered. Cant withdraw from cpf, like a vault

    Actually... not sure why you say 300k for "rainny days" is enough for medical tho...
    I remember a bill can come to about 120k even after insurance (especially when as we age) , so I think its still good to have a portion, like 1/3 of the 1.5m to the emergency $.
    The rest of the 1m will be to do investing for dividends
    Well that is my plan that is... :)

    • @joshconsultancy
      @joshconsultancy  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      IN almost all circumstances, co-payment w medical insurance is capped per year $3,000 w rider. Of course w panel rules depending on what kind of rider.
      $120k bill must have had gaps or treatment that is not conventional imo. Hope it clarifies

    How about donating a portion of the inheritance to charities? There are many who are much less fortunate. It's also good to spend a portion on education to upgrade ourselves - grow our skills, grow our intelligence, grow our characters - besides growing wealth.
