I haven't bought before SGS bond (which is guarantee principle at maturity by SG gov) and i wouldn't suggest it over SSB which has guarantee in principle at all times. Gain calculation if its premium about $1 after listing
Buy a free hold landed home? Then do not worry about the lease problem. Actually as think of it, the most expensive is house/car. Once these 2 are settled, all your income now is for daily expenses, which can be quite reasonable. For example, just do a relax job for 5k per month, and that is all you can enjoy, can be a good life.
Hey Josh! I’ve learnt so much from these contents! Anyway I am planning to do some investment for my kids, so curious what advice would you give and whether is it wise to give them a head start. Perhaps, a video on this?
Thank you for the high praise @chengearnsiow6014 Good suggestion! Any one keen on topic how to invest for kids to give them a head start do upvote here. I've a question, what have you tried or any ideas you are leaning towards so far w regards to investing for kids?
I’ve bought CSPX (DCA) for my elder one in a separate account via IBKR. Now that I’ve have my second one, just not sure if i should be doing the same or find some other alternatives.
Actually... not sure why you say 300k for "rainny days" is enough for medical tho... I remember a bill can come to about 120k even after insurance (especially when as we age) , so I think its still good to have a portion, like 1/3 of the 1.5m to the emergency $. The rest of the 1m will be to do investing for dividends Well that is my plan that is... :)
IN almost all circumstances, co-payment w medical insurance is capped per year $3,000 w rider. Of course w panel rules depending on what kind of rider. $120k bill must have had gaps or treatment that is not conventional imo. Hope it clarifies
Never pay up mortgage, it so easy to earn the spread with safe investments. Don’t know what to do with the money? let the money sleep in the FD for awhile.
Hi Josh. Any advice- i just purchased a private property but due to health conditions i don't qualify for mortgage or term life (either heavy loading or rejected)
How about donating a portion of the inheritance to charities? There are many who are much less fortunate. It's also good to spend a portion on education to upgrade ourselves - grow our skills, grow our intelligence, grow our characters - besides growing wealth.

Would you recommend buying 10 to 15 year SGS bond? Do i calculate my gain based on cut off yield or coupn rate? Thanks.

Hi Josh, love your videos! Just curious, what will YOU do?
Me =)? Pretty sure same approach and whatever I recently bought w my HDB sales proceeds 10x that quantum
Great financial advice! Thanks Josh. Btw, is renting out the inheritance property a good idea to consider too as this option is not mentioned.
Thanks Jimmie. I do support keeping the property and renting it out especially if no need to split it up

$1.5M may not buy a landed home. Plus there is higher upkeep costs?
CPF SA/OA + Diversified portfolio of different asset classes if the person has no experience in handling relatively larger wealth.
What would be in your suggested portfolio?
@@joshconsultancy probably ray dalio's suggested all weather allocation mix.
Does it make sense to do VHR when interest rates are so high? Or should we only do it when risk free interest drops below 2.5%.
I think the move on VHR is more of to prevent it from being squandered. Cant withdraw from cpf, like a vault
Maximize SA to save guard ur future retirement. Fully pay all ur loan. The rest invest. Job done.
Love that!
Some guys have all the luck.
Some guys have all the pain

Hi mindef group term is no underwriting for first $250k. But also pre-excluded. Beyond that may have to keep that liability exposed
