I'd definitely say it's an easier spec to learn compared to some of them. Or maybe that's just because it flows so well. Some specs feel janky (like Enhance shaman) :S

Isn't ret pally just a beginner class? (I'm a ret pally that uses gse because I've forgotten my rotation)
