    I think about Tidjane in terms of Giannis. 23 games started his rookie year, 24 minutes a game, 6.8 points 4.4 rebounds, 1.9 assists, .8 steals, .8 blocks, 1.6 turnovers... seventh in rookie of the year voting. Then he doubled his production. Then 16 ppg, then 22, then 26, now he's putting up MVP numbers....Giannis shot 44% as a rook, now he's above 60% most years. I see lots of bricks from Tidjane early on, but he also has the type of attitude it won't phase him if he gets a little embarrassment here and there and I think he can defend every position. His work ethic seems to be his best trait too. The issue would be... when he loses his man, he gets absolutely cooked, lol. But Charles can work on that.
    8/10 good pick, would have been legendary if we traded back and got more assets and still took Tidjane, but I'll take his upside over Knecht or even Buzelis. Seems like Jeff Peterson fell in love with this kid before he even came to Charlotte, so I rock with it. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt in that respect; maybe you're scared someone snags him if you wait around so its better to just snap him up.

      Not only Peterson. Steve Clifford allegedly was also raving about the kid.

    I think Salaun will be great in the dunker spot. he can rotate to the perimeter too which makes him versatile. im excited to see how Charles Lee uses him.

    He just looks like a lob threat or a potential miles replacement. My only problem is that this pick doesn’t make us “competitive” like management said we would be. I just hope that if we tank we tank hard.

      It wasn’t that many immediate win now players in this draft anyway so I don’t mind that we swung for the fences as long as we have a healthy team I think we will have a competitive team

    • @VanIyke
      @VanIyke 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      There isn't a player in this draft class from #6th pick to #30 that'll make you competitive. All have some major flaw or the other that needs to be cleaned up.

    Kid is raw af but his potential is insane. His floor is very low right now but his ceiling is sky high. With the right development he could be a star in the league. Just be patient and give him some time. Trust

  • @VanIyke
    @VanIyke 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Concerning the trade with the grizzlies: I read they only offered Marcus Smart to move up. How effing frugal is that?
    Also, word on the grapevine is that Spurs were eyeing Salaun. We took him so they traded the pick.
    Now I heard Hornets actually sent scouts to Europe to watch & scout Salaun. So they knew what they were getting.

      @@BUZZBOYS919 I like Miles too and I'd love to see him stick here but not at $25M. The models seem to value him at around $17M which the Hornets should jump at if they can pull that off. Maybe the new staff can get him to play team defense. Otherwise, we appear to be in 2-3 yr rebuild mode now so cap space rules.

    I do not think it was a great pick, I've watched the tape from his two years in Cholet. I do see potential, but it's hard to take what you see on that international tape at face level, the surrounding play is not anywhere near an NBA caliber. His shooting splits were 37/33/77 last year and what I'm reading is that people expect him to develop his short and long range game simultaneously... while also stepping up to the most competitive league in the world? Per 36 minutes he's a 14 - 6 - 2 player on low efficiency, with unremarkable defense.
    There probably are better picks.. unless we're really reworking our roster this year, there is a log jam at forward now between Miller/Bertans/Bridges/GWill/Pokusevski/Martin and I don't know that Tidjane will provide enough value to be more playable than any of them. We have so many forwards we're making Cody start at SG! I think the obvious choice for team need was to go get a combo or shooting guard, Martin is a crowd favorite but is not playing winning basketball.
    Excited to see what we do with our new coach heading into this season though, obviously we'll be making some deals and trimming the roster soon

    • @averiskonsept
      @averiskonsept 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I actually disagree; I think people have been calling for Cody's head but he's done a fair job given he was used at point guard sometimes. Healthy and used in the right position, I like Cody. I agree with you about the log jam though; I am confident Bertans will be gone and I don't know about Miles, to be honest. We've spent a lot of time developing him, but a sign and trade would probably benefit our asset collection. The pick up of Reggie Jackson with the 3 2nds... seems like we are stockpiling for some kind of future move.

    • @DCIphanatic
      @DCIphanatic 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@averiskonsept Yeah, I know he's a crowd favorite. I like him as a person too. It's not winning basketball though, we're playing 76% of his minutes at guard right now. He's high turnover and low efficiency. Since he's become a professional he's been chucking high volume on terrible percentage. He's not fast enough to defend guards and he's not tall enough to defend forwards. There are better options for us if we move on from him

    • @BUZZBOYS919
      @BUZZBOYS919  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I think we might move Bertans Jeff Peterson keeps talking about possibly taking on contracts but honestly I think miles moves to the 3 grant to the 4 salaun comes off the bench at the 4 or vice versa

    • @DCIphanatic
      @DCIphanatic 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@BUZZBOYS919 I like moving Bertans, I think we should even explore trading TS to the spurs and trying to get one of their misfits back. If we traded for a starting SG even someone like Vassell from spurs (I'll give them Bertans and Salaun):
      PG: Melo - Micic - Mann
      SG: Vassell - NSJ - McGowens
      SF: Miller - Cody - Leaky
      PF: Bridges - GWill - Pokusevski
      C: Mark - Richards - Bolden
      Miller is also going to fill out his frame a bit more too so I feel like we're going to have more of a F category and less of two individual SF and PF's this year. He is going to be swapping screens onto PF's. All of our forwards are a similar build and they are all already stretch players
