  • Already had a few times where the switches got bumped and the seats started to fold. Ford didn't design this very well so I changed it a bit.

Thanks! Great video. The brown wire is the one that attaches to the open circuit for this safety protection. After installation, this lockout switch will function as before this modification (not only with ACC or the car on). The timer relay will eventally shut off the power to these seats (with the lights and auxillary functions - as I found out during the install). I used the Ulincos U19A1 for my switch (I wanted a momentary push button switch permanently mounted above this switch cluster) - but any switch will work. I called Ford before my self-install, and they do not have any recalls for this poor design. Shameful.

Hi just wondering if you could make a diagram as I'm trying to install my 5 prong switch and I can't figure it out
      Thank you

Just an update on this, if anyone cares, it seems this mod failed about 4 years after I did it. The rear seats would no longer unfold. I purchased a new switch in anticipation of taking it to the dealer but the new switch fixed the issue.

Do you mean your aftermarket switch failed or the factory switch failed? I don’t see why this mod would make it fail. I’m thinking about doing this to mine as my son hit the switch today and folded everything we had in the rear up in the seats. 🤦‍♂️

If the seats stop folding its the circuit board behind the switches, the ac sweats by the switches and leaks onto the board causing corrosion, cleaning it may work. But I suggest sealing the back of the module.

You could have started off by explaining what you did and why you did it. I guess you are adding a safety feature.
