    My hypothesis is is that they run so many commercials during the race so they can put it up on here commercial free. Which IMO is perfectly fine. IMSA is doing a great job for the fans, and after a shaky start to the season, things are going much better. :) Thanks IMSA and TUDOR, and so glad Risi got a podium!

    I'm am so happy that we're able to watch these races online. But that trumpet that plays when we go to commercial is haunting my dreams.

    I absolutely LOVE watching these on TH-cam! The coverage is great, I just wish there was a little more coverage of the Delta Wing. Such a cool concept, but it's so hard to keep up with what they are doing when they get no coverage. Of course, that happens when you are not 'in the mix' all the time.

      It doesn't help that the DeltaWing only runs about 20 laps or so before it has to retire with some sort of mechanical issue

      They had better luck later in the year, at Petit they were running well, but were hit by another car. I guess it's hard to see such a small, funky shaped car in the mirrors. I just think the concept deserves more attention. As soon as Nissan decides to actually push this project, it will improve in leaps and bounds, but it will be slow going until then.

    Watched this on TV. Great race, but the commercials are way out of hand. I think I'm just going to wait and watch it here from now on.

      Agree. There is no point to watch it on the TV as I am not going to watch the commercials. If they start putting commercials on this, I am just going to watch other races from around the world that know how to televise a race and stream it on TH-cam.

      Soooo.....You want to see good racing but you won't watch the commercials that finance the telecast of said race. You'll probably say something about how you're forced to look at the ads plastered all over the car and that this is advertising enough. You should thank your lucky stars that there's TH-cam.

    IMSA please bring back Indy! there is room for 13 or maybe 14 races a year...

      It would compliment the Indy GP so well; I agree that it's a no brainer.
      Also, IMSA, PLEASE come back to Kansas! We get practically no professional sports car racing here!

      Indy doesn't bring in a big enough crowd for any event which isn't the Indy 500. Also, which event should be dropped to make room for IMSA?

    This was the 1st race of the new series where all 4 classes ran at the same time that was not part of the Endurance cup

    Do they even sell tickets for the stands for these races? It's like the only people watching are in the grass and the stands are completely empty.

      I guess they were reserved for the people with NASCAR tickets.If that's the case the NASCAR fans didn't show much interest, but then it was a friday race.

      It was a package deal for the nascar race we went because we'd never seen a sports car race before. Now I wish they would come back to Indianapolis, it was a really cool race to watch.

    I think life would be easier for IMSA to just have pure ACO GTE cars instead of adding weight penalties to a dominant car which is absurd. I knew before watching this race that a DP will win so they still need to work on the balancing.
    Plus if they used FIA thorough bred GT3 cars then they might have more variety like Bentley and Nissan plus they look better than the GTD versions

      GT3 cars are coming. GTD will become full GT3 specs as of 2016 :D

      GTLM IS ACO GTE. The IMSA GTLM technical regulations (host.w.imsa.com/sites/default/files/uploads/2015%20IMSA%20Technical%20Regulations%20GTLM%2020150102.pdf) are a copy of the ACO GTE technical regulations. (in English and ...French) The ACO/FIA also use balance of performance.

    Fittipaldi too agressiv at the start: no penalty. Fittipaldi squeezing someone against the pitwall at Mosport: no penalty again! I always liked him, especially when he tried no-stop-races during his early F1 days with Minardi and when he drove an Aston Martin DBR9 in the LMS, but he can't keep going like he currently is.

    Not a bad race IMO but man where is everyone? I mean I know most people would want to be in the infield but wow those stands are absolutely empty.

      Unfortunately, that's par for the course nowadays at IMS in *ANY* series.

      I was in the stands and enjoyed it. Most people sit in the infield because there are more vantage points. There was a great crowd actually. Just they weren't in the stands.

      I was there too. Actually most of the grand stands were roped off. You could only sit in maybe 3 sections along the front stretch..

      I was there as well this race was on a Friday on Brickyard weekend so most people thought it was just nascar practice

    I guess corvettes got hit with penalties? Lol well it was bound to happen, they had to even the race out......my question is why didn't they do that when the season first started but hey......I'm glad the #93 viper won that class of the race:-) :-) :-) :-) the race was very even and intense

    Broadcast team would be so much better if they weren't forced to say the same things over and over every race, and rush everything between the commercials.

      He only said it was a Camaro so it could've either been one of the Stevenson cars or the blue Camaro that always runs up front (team name is escaping me), either way not too big of a spoiler

    LOL PC class..either needs more power or need to leave, they are just moving pylons.
    I Guess Tudor decided to impose more BP penalties on the C7r only (25kg) weight penalty, because winning 4 in a row is unacceptable and everyone else gets weight removed sigh, just saying.
    Corvette fans are expected to keep their interest in this series while Tudor/ IMSA keeps picking on the vettes, where as the rest get nothing or even weight removed.
    As some one else eloquently put it:
    "So pretty much to compete in this joke of a series you cannot be too successful. Sure the Vipers were going to get a win eventually, but by handicapping the Corvettes, you might as well start handing out trophies throughout the paddock. Seriously, they might as well choose before the season starts who they want to win, and start the BOP from there. BOP is a fucking joke. If your car cannot compete then either, leave the series, or put more time into testing. And this should go for any team.

      It wouldn't be such a problem if they just stuck with the ACO BOP for each car. If they did then we would have different cars winning (probably Porsche) and Aston Martin wouldn't have left.

      The problem with the PC's is the drivers. The cars are a little faster than the GTD's, maybe a little faster than the GTLM cars, but they seem so 'finnicky' to drive that the more inexperienced drivers can't drive them as well as the more experienced ones. PC is a great concept, I really like the idea, but if I were a team owner, I would rather be in GTD I think, unless I was planning to get into the LMP2 or DP class a year or two down the road.

      I hate BOP, too, especially as nearly every series nowadays does it. In case of GTE or the last GT1 generation, you just can't do without it, if you want to have multiple manufacturers with production based cars involved, because of the variety of concepts that comes with it. You have front-, middle-, rear-engine-layouts with everything from 6 to 10 cylinders, not to mention boxers, direct-injection etc.. Without BOP it's a safe bet that a Ferrari 458 would win the championship every year, just because of it's layout.

      I'm pretty sure those vette where 491 hp 1220kg that's 20 kg less than srt(1250) even BMW(1245) that make even fair.

      markblade112 No Mark, the weights are as such, Vettes are heaviest right now 1270kg , SRT viper is 1250kg, BMW is 1230kg, Ferrari 1200kgs.
      here i thought 1245kg is the baseline vehicle weight for the GTE/GTLM class per the FIA/ACO rules, but there are cars lighter and Corvettes are 'made' the heaviest thanks to BOP penalties against them.
      And on top of this the SRT vipers were running just as fast or faster than the Corvettes before the BOP weight penalty was handed to the corvettes in the last race. The Judges are quite biased against Corvette racing team and I dont understand why. Also the vipers are allowed to use an 8.0 litre motor where as Chevy was allowed to use only a 5.5 litre motor.
      I doubt Corvette racing will win another race, because this is what IMSA/Tudor wants.
