Yes, Bert Jansch, John Martyn and Davey Graham are influences and you can here it in his playing. Saw him in Oxford a few years ago, with Danny Thompson on upright bass. He was superb…
Really awesome music worthy of an artist spotlight later this week on World United Music. Will also include this performance on the Folk Rock & Acoustic video Playlist. Thanks for the introduction!
Much better version than the "Amsterdam clip" ! I just DIG this guy & his style of playing ! What blew me away was finding ot his influences are guys who "blew me away" for ages. Tim Buckley, Van Morrison, John Martyn, Davey Graham, Bert Jansch, John Renbourn..... Now those are roots worth checking out !
+John Knottenbelt Thanks I will look into it. I hear one of his records he mad with someone else sorry I can't remember who it was is putting out an album On Record store day this Sat the 16th. it's an all improv record Right up my ally

Some pretty serious channeling of Bert Jansch going on here. Awesome version of the song. Very sympathetic playing together by the bassist, too.

Bought my first Pentangle 1966 then hooked for life with Bert and John ,Influenced all my music even now.
His other influences are Fahey, Basho, Sandy Bull, and Lang. You can hear a bit of Basho at the beginning here.
Pretty amazing
Did anyone know the tuning he is using
☝️😎
Andrew Scott Young on upright bass. He's introduced in the longer video: th-cam.com/video/jtZFEDqxxIk/w-d-xo.html
