    Nobody has explained these in terms of dose of volume vs timing! Thank you

    Thank you for always making to the point and very consumer friendly videos.
    You talk about things that would matter to home baristas and you cut through alot of the noise and shenanigans.
    I decided to go for a Barista Pro, and i am very happy with my choice now after watching this video and not paying an extra 370 USD for the touch model.

      Happy to help! I recommend watching our dedicated Barista Pro review, since it has a "dial in" tutorial.

    I just went from the Barista Express to the Touch and can't stand the timed pull vs volume. Just as you said - I don't ask for a 30 second shot!

      its been a while since you posted this comment. I'm curious which machine you like more? is the Touch worth the extra investment over the Barista Express?

      @@jmproductions7041 I sold the Touch on FB Marketplace and went back to the Express. The delay in heating up with the Express is no big deal since it is about the same time it takes to grind... I don't use milk products (and prefer frothing myself), etc...

    Insightful, not sure if the grinder is best positioned on top of the machine rather than being independent

    • @craftcoffeespot
      @craftcoffeespot  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      That’s a good point, but it’s a broader debate: no grinder or with grinder. You can find a better standalone grinder (DF64 on budget or Eureka is better). But the integrated grinder sure is convenient.

      I’m new to Breville Pro espresso machines and find this video helpful. I had no idea making a good cappuccino was so nuanced. It does seem to me that an aftermarket grind funnel would be a helpful tool if you don’t want coffee grounds all over your counter top. We opted for the stainless version and after reading comments here about the color versions chipping paint I’m pleased we went that route.

    • @craftcoffeespot
      @craftcoffeespot  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@RandyBelinda I shake the portafilter during dosing to even out the grounds. A dosing funnel is cleaner though.

    Very accurate review. Is there a mode to use the touch model steam milk as a regular mil steaming without having to keep the milk jar on the machine ?

    • @craftcoffeespot
      @craftcoffeespot  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can froth manually by lifting up the wand and steaming in that position. It’s tricky though because you can’t rotate the wand at all.

    People are saying that the coloured ones tend to chip easily. But I imagine those are plastic, while there is a another black stainless steel option. Surely that wouldn't chip, would it?

    • @craftcoffeespot
      @craftcoffeespot  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Unclear. The comments here are the first time I’ve heard of chipping. I briefly owned a black truffle Pro, and it wasn’t stainless steel.

    If your weighing your output on a scale what would be the benefit of volumetric output? I’m pretty sure professional baristas use timed output and weigh everything on a scale….

    • @craftcoffeespot
      @craftcoffeespot  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      No difference with a scale. Just pointing out volumetric is better for those who want a “set it and forget it” mode.

    Thanks for the video. A quick question - is the Espresso quality on these machines the same as the bambino plus? In other words would a bambino plus + separate grinder combo be equal to say, the barista pro?

    • @craftcoffeespot
      @craftcoffeespot  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, the espresso quality of the machines is comparable, but it really depends on the grinder. Watch the video I made on seperate grinders, as it’s valid for the Pro and Touch vs Bambino Plus: th-cam.com/video/8PdlSD9zMXM/w-d-xo.htmlsi=uQ-cJbYw27gnVQQ1

    I really wonder how long all those machines will last. And especially machines with touch screen. It just seems to me touch screen might break, and then you'll get no use out of it

    • @craftcoffeespot
      @craftcoffeespot  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The touchscreens have proven sturdy for close to 2 years. Never heard complaints about that component on either of them. External color chipping, O-rings, yes. Never the touch screen.

    How are these two in terms of noise compared to the Barista Express. I like my barista express but it is loud.

    • @craftcoffeespot
      @craftcoffeespot  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Very similar noise level.

    • @RevitExperiments
      @RevitExperiments ปีที่แล้ว

      @@craftcoffeespot Interesting... honestly the noise level is the only thing that makes me want to upgrade to something else. I actually do prefer not having a screen and a list of beverages since 95% of the time I only pull espresso shots.

    • @craftcoffeespot
      @craftcoffeespot  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@RevitExperiments how much of the noise problem is the grinder vs espresso brewing? Because if it’s the grinder (which is my noise complaint) you can get a separate grinder that will be better and quieter easily. Then, get a Breville Bambino - better heating system, no screen, much cheaper.

    • @RevitExperiments
      @RevitExperiments ปีที่แล้ว

      @@craftcoffeespot Both are loud. Booting the machine is also loud. I had a small DeLonghi Dedica before getting the Barista Express, and it was very silent. With the Barista - when it is brewing or grinding I can't hear what anyone next to me is saying. It is that loud. And it is a second one (they changed it after another problem with the first) so I hoped that the noise levels would be better, but it is the same.

    Bonjour,
    Interressé par la Touch Impress j'ai deux questions.
    Pour remplir l'eau est on obligé de sortir le bac car entre mon plan de travail et le meuble au dessus, j'ai 52cm.
    Je ne comprend pas comment la Touch Impress peut régler automatiquement la quantité de lait vu que on le verse soi même.
    Merci pour vos réponses

    • @craftcoffeespot
      @craftcoffeespot  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Bonjour, le Touch Impress mesure 41 cm (16 pouces) au total. Vous pouvez y mettre des bonnets d'une hauteur maximale de 15 cm. Le réservoir d'eau est amovible, ou vous pouvez ouvrir un couvercle et verser de l'eau à l'intérieur.
      Pour le lait, il y a un capteur de température dans la base qui indique au Breville de s'arrêter lorsqu'il atteint une certaine température. La température est réglable de 40 à 75 C.

    Do either of these machines have a heated brew-group?

    • @craftcoffeespot
      @craftcoffeespot  ปีที่แล้ว

      No. You need to run a blank shot through the portafilter to pre heat. I’ve talked about this with thermojet machines on other videos. 1-2 preheats makes a difference.

    Don't buy a Pro that has color. It chips HORRIBLY and they won't do anything about it because that is not covered in the warranty. $800 to put a chipped to heck and back appliance on my counters.
