Malaysia hotter than Thailand is very subjective as most South East Asian countries ; Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Brunei, Vietnam, Cambodia and others are situated near the Equator and have tropical climate, so its almost the same weather except in highlands like in Malaysia Cameron Highlands, Genting Highlands, Fraser Hills, near Mt Kinabalu in Sabah...or in further north Thailand or Vietnam are much cooler weather and less humid. Bangkok can be a lot hottee than Kuala Lumpur and on the way around depend on time you visit. Currently is monsoon season so its rain a lot in KL and around Malaysia, so less humid and a bit cooler but still hot when it sunny unless you under shade. KL is not located near the sea,,similar to Bangkok,, the nearest beach is Port Dickson or Morib about 1 hour drive. However Peninsular Malaysia is surrounded by sea and Kuala Lumpur is in the valley surrounded by hills and alot greenery around KL is help to cool it down similar to Singapore.
