This was great. It covers a topic that is hard to Google for and it's a lovely combination of many of Erik's best videos and tricks. There's a question that I've always had on this topic. Since SQL Server obviously isn't good at this job, is it possible to move it all to the application?
I've never seen anyone do it successfully. You end up pulling a lot into the app, which sucks. Or the app constructs the same query your procedure would have. Not a lot of upside there.
