I love working like this! I rarely change anything out in my template, but don’t feel as though it gets stale, because none of the source material is the same. A hammer can be used as described in the name, or to pry nails, or as a fulcrum for a pry bar (or another hammer). One tool, multiple uses. I have four compressors in my template, but use my channelstrip’s compressor for 99%, and the others for three niche applications. Seems to me like most of my music collection was created that way. 😉
abletons compressors already cover an incredible range, glue compressor has a beautiful character and compressor is a simple and clean standard compressor. I did buy vulf compressor recently because its one of the few compressors that is very unique in its response but otherwise have not ever found additional compressors interesting.
