9:37 that is a Supercharger, its a masc but for engines, and its pretty much only ever used by pirates, probably as people don't like making engines have a heated meltdown.
@scienceinsanity6927 @7:20... "Brandon Herrera" is the gun-guy with the videos. He's definitely entertaining. Also: The Corsair If properly modded is one of the finest assaults in mw5 mercs. I've got a x2 Gauss/ x2 Large Laser/ Srm4 (or more) build that'll devastate entire crowds. I'd choose It over plenty of standards.
No discussion on frankenmechs is complete without mention of the Schwerer Gustav. It's parts from a Annihilator, Verfolger and Berserker with a thumper cannon, clan RAC 5, and so much hurt it's insane. One of my favorite mechs. Also named after the largest artillery piece in ww2
Me, playing MechWarrior 5 and can't even install 20 missiles on my Centurion, despite CLEARLY HAVING THE FKN SPACE FOR IT. Then finding out there's a unique version with 20 missiles so APPARENTLY SOMEONE CAN DO IT, BUT NOT ME. Then I modded the game, and it actually became fun.
The the Gorkanaut/Morkanauts, Stompas, and Gargants (as well as Deff Dreads and Killa Kans) created by the Orks from Warhammer 40k are great examples of "Frankenmechs"
Most Frankemechs may well be barely functioning heaps, but there's a couple fo great exceptions. One being the Sneed Special, an unholy kludging of Rifleman, Phoenix Hawk, Warhammer and Archer that Shorty Sneed piloted with great distinction for at least a decade. Then there's Legend Killer, which was a totally stock, unmodified Rifleman that contained no Warhammer components or armour, honest.
At one point in a modded MW5 run, I had a Javelin with Jenner arms and Locust legs, but I personally despise having to use Javelins due to their crippling lack of actual armament so I considered it an improvement.
0:40 That's a Hellspawn. Not a frankenmech at all. I'm fact, it's a quite expensive medium fire support 'mech. 17:56 That's just half of a Yeoman. As if it didn't have enough troubles already.
All of this and no mention of MercTech Lite, which allows you to create proper frankenmechs in MW5: Mercs, combining whichever limbs you want on any torso (within the same weight class), or even swap side torsos from other variants of the same mech.
My favorite one has to be the Cataphract. Started life as a bunch of spare parts. Did so well that once they brought them back to the rear lines it was made into a proper mech.
A legendary Mech Tech that has Done his work in multiple jobs doing mech assembly for Numerous Companies/Brands being a valuable part of the war effort because he knows the compatible models of every piece that could be used in a mech/ can make a damn good adapter for it. "functioning frankenmech"
This video reminded me of Apollo 13 (And maybe the Boeing Starliner in the future, though I hope no one hurt) in the whole "we are boned. We need to make our carbon scrubbers work in a slot they don't have, we need to make the batteries from one move to another etc.
Watching this video is giving me tons of ideas. I've gotten into BattleTech classic TT, and learned how flexible the setting is on what army you want to play as, and/or even encourages making your own mercenary company. I've been wanting to make up a company that's a group of neutral/well meaning individuals from all walks of life, who are almost always salvaging and rebuilding destroyed mechs from battlefields, rescuing/aiding any injured troops or pilots, and getting the heck outta dodge before reinforcements arrive to clean up. (Basically, think of them as kinda a cross between the Atom Cats from Fallout 4, and Team Star Fox.) I was actually considering trying to build lore-friendly Franken-Mechs, but within a reasonable safety area.
The highlander with four legs, chances are that is a Hell Horses assault mech known as a Thunder Stallion. It was a best of a mech, no torso but sported a heavy gauss rifle. The whole mech needed to turn in order to aim it's main weapon, more suited to an artillery role still it was able to one shot up to medium mechs unlucky enough to get within it's crosshairs.
Some of my fave frankenmechs are the roguetech pirate mechs, special shout out to the pirate atlas, whose ECM and Probe Suite is just the upper body of a Raven welded onto its shoulder
The Cataphract is an example of a Frankenmech that was so good that it acquired its own factory production lines.

9:37 that is a Supercharger, its a masc but for engines, and its pretty much only ever used by pirates, probably as people don't like making engines have a heated meltdown.
Distraction Carnifex in the middle of a Battletech discussion gave me a chuckle.
Sci you know you could put some Gundam Late UC mixed MS designs in there and noone would tell the difference. Look up the Gorgeous Gundam to see why.
What I love about the Corsair is tht there's like 2 or 3 different tonnages. Both called Corsair.
There's a 55t and a 95t . Might also be some 75t variants, but I can't find them ATM.
You ever see an anhilator with catapult arms? Supprisingly terrifying
Im trying to get bits together to put rifleman/jagermech arms(yay magnets) on a marauder chasis
The the Gorkanaut/Morkanauts, Stompas, and Gargants (as well as Deff Dreads and Killa Kans) created by the Orks from Warhammer 40k are great examples of "Frankenmechs"
Ahhh there’s so much WarHammer Ork energy in this video
The 95 ton corsair is a beast with 2 lbx10 slg and 2 large lasers. Its a good sniper.
Urbanmechs: the Inner Sphere pop-up target.
At one point in a modded MW5 run, I had a Javelin with Jenner arms and Locust legs, but I personally despise having to use Javelins due to their crippling lack of actual armament so I considered it an improvement.
Awe... No Smitty Mech from Snord's Irregulars...
[pout]
Crosair looks like a mech from 'The Forever Winter" game.
was thinking the same.
Johnny Cash song "One piece at a time".
Love that song!
“I got it one piece at a time, and it didn’t cost me a dime…”
😂 great song for this logic lel
Those things are literally walking ork Killa Kans
Even pontiac, from the car, makes weapons in battletech.
16:40 it gives me heavy "fuck it, macrowave" meme
This got such an unreasonable laugh out of me. I know what a microwave is and the idea of a MACROwave is just to funny for some reason.
I enjoy all of SCIENCE INSANITY videos 🎉😂
The Warhammer/archer combos searchlight could be extremely useful in combat because you could just blind your enemies
When a Highlander and a Goliath love each other very much...

WHERE'S MY BAG PIPES!?
My favorite one has to be the Cataphract. Started life as a bunch of spare parts. Did so well that once they brought them back to the rear lines it was made into a proper mech.
The Corsair in YAML, for MW5 is pretty good. NGL, but only because it is a Hero Mech with extra quirks and armour.
Industrial size kitbashing!😂
Good timing.
I've just frankenmeched a command lance for my merc unit.
A legendary Mech Tech that has Done his work in multiple jobs doing mech assembly for Numerous Companies/Brands being a valuable part of the war effort because he knows the compatible models of every piece that could be used in a mech/ can make a damn good adapter for it. "functioning frankenmech"
I bought GM stock for the meme.
Totally worth it.
This video reminded me of Apollo 13 (And maybe the Boeing Starliner in the future, though I hope no one hurt) in the whole "we are boned. We need to make our carbon scrubbers work in a slot they don't have, we need to make the batteries from one move to another etc.
Now im picturing 3 urbies in a trench coat masquerading as an Atlas.
That hunchee maybe should put the big arm on the other side, to balence the ac20
I had a group whose scout leader drove a WolvInHawk - a wolverine griffin shadowhawk - it was unique and definitely had.. .. issues
(Basically, think of them as kinda a cross between the Atom Cats from Fallout 4, and Team Star Fox.)
I was actually considering trying to build lore-friendly Franken-Mechs, but within a reasonable safety area.
I've seen enough Deadliest Journey to know that when people want to make something work, they will find a way to make it work.
It would be cool if MechWarrior 6 let us slap spare limbs and stuff on damaged mechs, lol
17:38 Steve forgot to play the bagpipes when you said "Highlander!!!"
15:45 Oh hey, Randowis! I like his comics. They're quite funny.
The highlander with four legs, chances are that is a Hell Horses assault mech known as a Thunder Stallion. It was a best of a mech, no torso but sported a heavy gauss rifle. The whole mech needed to turn in order to aim it's main weapon, more suited to an artillery role still it was able to one shot up to medium mechs unlucky enough to get within it's crosshairs.
wait, Sci said Highlander but there wasn't bagpipes.
Glad it wasn't just me!
Some of my fave frankenmechs are the roguetech pirate mechs, special shout out to the pirate atlas, whose ECM and Probe Suite is just the upper body of a Raven welded onto its shoulder
Corsair from MechWarrior Online? Best mech. Period.
