Great review. Thank you. Why didn’t VW take on board basically everyone’s feedback and get rid of those haptic steering wheel controls and replace them back to actual buttons.
I agree. I think the decision to revert to real buttons has happened on the cheaper models but not for high grades yet. Maybe we will see it in the MY25 upgrade.
I had this car petrol version for past 6 months and as previous owner of cayenne and GLE43 for 3 yrs each the Touareg for me is much better car.. infotainment system and buttons on steering wheel needs two weeks to know how to deal and benefit from all features then nothing compares to its capabilities, drive ability comfort space are much better than its rivals… where I’m Q7 or Q8, X5, GLE or cayenne sells for usd40k to 60k more… outstanding car and joy to drive
Nice choice of your set off twisties to explore the performance. Sounds like it doesn’t come with a similar spec exhaust like its smaller brother the Tiguan R. With the same 0-100 times and better handling than this bigger one then if you’re not after the additional space then save just over $50k and buy the Tiguan R.
@@therightcar Exactly. Luckily, I’ve just purchased one for my CFO (AKA Wife), in blue, with the optional panoramic sunroof and HK speaker upgrades. I was actually surprised at how much bang for buck it provides. She also loves it. 😊
Looks and sounds like you had a ball testing this car, Matt. Thanks for a great review.
Thanks mate. One of my “wow!” moments for 2024, that’s for sure!
Looks like a great car. I like the hybrid for boring commute. You convinced me to test drive one.
Great! Let me know how you go.
really nice review😊
Love the channel.
0-100 will be really helpful.
VW say it’s 5.1 seconds

@@therightcar I actually originally typed that they’ll possibly include this in the MY25 version. Love your channel BTW! 😊
At 20:50 is the back door rubber at the top already coming off?

Thanks for the comment mate!
Looks like you had fun on this one. I'm guessing the fuel economy with less fun driving would be around 7L which is pretty good for a big sporty car.

Great point. Get one while you still can - it’s done for in the coming months.

X5 is the answer. I own a VAG and it's been quite good overall but there's no way I'd choose a Touareg over an X5 30d.
I would get in pursuits with this car
3.5t towing with 220kg tow ball limit?
Great revue, How long does the EV battery last on a long run in hybrid mode , before it loses its assistance to the petrol engine?
This would be an awesome one to be answered!
what about the Lexus NX450 h+ as an option
Who in their right mind would pay over 60k for a top spec vw?
Congratulations on waking up from your coma. A lot has changed since 2005.
@@Daniel-dg3np I bought a top spec Tiguan for 43k brand new when they first came out in 2017 you twat.
@@Daniel-dg3np but apparently nimrods are still nimrods so not everything.
No matter what car is tested 90% of comments are negative.
Not a phev or a hybrid fan. I like the Defender more.
I love the Defender. Would have it as a diesel 😋

D350 engine in Defender coming very soon…
👍👍👍👍
Nice, but for the other options.
Serenity 😅
Definitely not the Volvo... why would you pay the same price for an old model that's about to be outdated?? Not even a comparison.
Coz the XC90 is still a really great vehicle…
Most of the people watching this today be flat out putting a deposit on a saveloy sausage let alone $130,000 VW 🤪 🤪 🤪 🤪
Hahahaha
Compare with Bugatti, its absolutely bargain.
I guess so
How funny are the thumb nails
After the last 2 videos, are you sure you wanna use "Rated R?"😂🤣😂
Haha I know - maybe my future is on another video platform…? #therightmatt
Touareg, not Twarag.😊
I would stick with a Santa Fe, far too much Volkswageny stuff to go wrong for that sort of money.
Kia EV9 is a far better option
