And that is the unit I am looking for. I'm going to a few lakes next year that aren't mapped so I can save them on the SD card. Also, from playing around with one. In the fishing chart part of the unit, you can color code the depths on the contour map. 0-5' can be one color, 5-10' another color, so on and so forth. This way you can tell how much water you are in at a glance.
Good info video, that find is still alittle out of my budget. The Striker 4 Plus has basic mapping and waypoints. I was moreless using my phone for GPS mapping at the AEP recreation lands, you can get lost trying to find the hidden ponds
Great information on how it works and how you can make it work the best for the way you maybe using it thank you merry Christmas to you and your family
Great video showing what l was looking for without going into all the technical stuff, just need to get out on the water and have play with it. All the best from Sydney Australia 🇦🇺
Try the Active Captain, you might be interested to save your day on the water route overlayed on contour map on your mobile phone for review when you are not on the water and don’t need to pull the SD and transfer to a computer. On the new Ultra 2 (10&12) models you can record the sonar screen to your phone, previously the screen recording was only on the more expensive GPSMAP versions.
This is a good video about its capabilities. I have multiple seasons of kayak bassin' experience with it as I got my 7" version on Christmas 2019 from Cabela's at 44% off. The DownVü and SideVü are OK but my unit lacks the bigger/newer/higher resolution your unit has. What I like best about mine is knowing the water depth, mapping the depths (Quickdraw contours) everywhere I paddle, recording my tracks everywhere I paddle (and waypoints where I catch bass) along with the trip summary (time on the water, time spent anchored vs paddling, distance paddled etc) and saving/copying printscreens of all that from the microSD card afterward to my computer for review and future planning. (Hold the HOME button anytime to create a printscreen.)
9=screen size and the second number (2 in your case) is the map type. Kayak fishermen in the U.S. are better off with the 93sv which comes with preloaded US lake maps. 92sv is the worldwide base map version.
Good morning, I’m enjoying your demos. Your presentation is full of great information & is easy to watch & follow. I’m looking at a 73CV & I can’t find any reference as to whether the keys are back-lit or not. Do you know? Many thanks, Kev
Very nice explanation. I'm looking something better than my striker 4. Just can't use all of the things on your unit. I'm looking for suggestions on upgrading, just not to the unit you have. Ideas welcome. Thanks.
I’ve wanted to spend some time learning my garmin but worried it will damage my transducer if it’s not in the water. Will turning this on in the driveway potentially hurt or burn up my transducer?
@wendellfishing i ended up ordering the 106sv ultra 2, i was very impressed with the display unit in the store and from what i can tell it does everything the hds pro does exept weather and radar. The ultra 2 has slightly better screen resolution and the same mhz for the sonar. The other thing i like about the garmin is the auto guidance on maps, with lowrance it will draw a straight line over land and everything.
Bought mine for navigation purposes so very disappointed that it was so fish related review only. Please consider all purposes and show all functions and you’d get more views

Just bought this unit, I also got it for side and down imaging. One day maybe live Scope.

Ahh... looks like I missed that... thanks for the add!
Picked one up used for $500 with a GT56 transducer.
Sick Deal Boss!

Glad it was helpful!
Thanks for the overview content ..
Is that your main ff? whats you're fav? What model of any brand would you suggest for kayak fishing?
it is my main. I did a bunch of research and landed on this girl.geni.us/GarminEchomap92SV
Excellent video! 👍
Thanks Mike!

Heck yeah! What did you get?

You don't have to worry about damaging the transducer outside of the water. www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/topic/163488-transducer-burnout/
well done sir!
Thanks boss!
hello my friend , is it 100% waterproof ? what will happen if you capsize your canoe
The device withstands incidental exposure to water of up to 1 m for up to 30 min
Will the Noqua 10amp power it? How long?
You would have to do the math.. but I would say from experience around 10 hours
@@wendellfishing that would be a long day
106sv ultra 2 or lowrance hds 10 pro? Whats your opinion on them
Hey boss, I have never used a lowrance so can't give an opinion. What!?! a content creator without an opinion?

Does it tie to trolling motor?
I think it depends on how advanced your motor is
I still don't how to read it
