This show was over the top. But it wasn't just Seattle. Back then (also being in their "prime") it was like that for every show - and remember this type of music was brand new to most of us at the time. It was kinda mind blowing. I saw them on this tour in '88 and the energy of the arena was that of which I've NEVER felt before. And that fantastic feeling lasted from the beginning until the very end of their shows.
from 86 to late 92 every show was like this. the shows later on 89-92 were much longer nearly 3 hours. but in 93 you could hear that james voice was done. but those years where the highest peak any musician or group has ever had
I was at this concert, I was 17..so much fun!! Its so hard to explain how awesome the 80's metal concerts were. Just innocent. No cell phones, you could smoke inside, and people weren't there for anything else but to rock out. The best is having to go to school the next day wearing your new Metallica shirt that wreaks of cigg smoke and awesome ringing in the ears!!!
When some Gen-Z type demands "Metallica is mid" and that they don't understand why they are so popular, I link them to this performance. This is how Metallica took over metal. They played shows like this night after night after night and it was impossible to not join their thrash cult.
Metal up your ass les metalleux🤘🤘🤘
Insane how Hetfield can play that fast and precise while also singing.
He’s the GOAT
Yeah man I agree, and actually sound good too

Haha yeah man I agree, they’re insane live hey
And after a two hour set, they came back with the double encore and did "BREADFAN" with the same ferocious playing as they started the show with.
I was there. Thanks for the BJ Angie. Good fucking music too
All that brief growls in Thrash Metal concert like the one James give is what inspired the birth of Death Metal.
ahaha true!
Is true
Cronos did that, not Hetfield
When you play the same song night after night for months, you naturally just play it faster.
That and cocaine. Even Kirk admitted they were on some “special vitamins” that night because they wanted to be extra badass for the cameras.
Love it. Metallica Disposable Heroes please
GOAT
This was sick live. I've always loved jammin' to the song but watching Lars... jeez! My arms ache! LOL
whiplash from the same consert is even faster
Peak blow fueled James,.and ooooooooooooo boy that paid.dividends when it came to this old footage
Yeah, that one will blow your hair back. 🖤💨🔥❤️🔥🤩🔥🔥
