thanks for the review, I found JC2nd is a fantastic game, still enjoy it after 12 plays. 1 small note, I sleeve all my cards, you just need to redistribute for them to fit
Thanks for the review! I've also checked some written reviews of this game, and many of them come back to the evils of empire and colonialism, as if I want a lecture on morality when I'm playing games. I wouldn't want a wargame to contain lectures about the obvious evils of war either. Anyway, is this a preachy game/rules or is it just the way reviewers write about it?
The rules and game is not preachy at all, its just the current reviewer trend of not being able to enjoy anything without moralising about it. There is a segment of the rulebook that discusses the company and its history and its interesting but you can skip it if you want. The rest is simply the rules and how to play. Superb game in every aspect and one of the highest quality productions ive seen!
Hello, Thank you for the upload and the review. Keep going. What’s your opinion about the game in respect of 2 player and solo mode? Is it worth the purchase if one mostly plays these to ways? All the best.
It plays well with 2 players. I haven't tried it solo. Those versions use the crown as a bot and still have negotionations. Players get promise cubes they can spend to influence the actions the crown takes. It gets a bit more fiddly as you have to keep checking another book on the actions they'll take.
Fantastic. Thank you, and keep at it -- a very informed explanation and review.
