You really don't need to be a Billionaire to enjoy life to the fullest in Indonesia, given we are a fast growing in economics and one of the powerhouse in SEA, with a high interest rate, a mere 1 million dollar would really make you live a good life and retire for good.

Their money worth could be around 10 times from Usa or Europe considering daily needs price is almost 10 times cheaper than in Western world.
The luxury villa that worth usd 50 million in Western world is only cost usd 5 million in Indonesia.
Foods, drinks, clothes, lands, real estate, and almost everything except automotive is cost less than what cost in Western world.
Luxury Automotive is probably different. They'll cost 2,5 times from Western world.
For example a usd 300k supercar will cost usd 750k in Indonesia.

Most of the richest were from Chinesse ethinicity. The chinesse parents educate their children to work since kid. Even if they are rich, they don't spoil their kids. So the kids understand the value of money and how to be richer than their parents. And they rarely work in government. The richest don't take place in politic. But they are close to the highest position in politic. Because the underlings will follow what the highest position decide.

jakarta is one of the top 20 most expensive cities in the world to live in. it made the list in 2021. It's an international cities flooded with big chain restaurants and worldwide brand clothing stores. Not to mention skyscrapers, countless fine dining restaurants, and not to mention the cost of houses. Old money owns houses and properties in the prime areas and the cost of housing in the affluent areas are just as expensive as you would find in any other countries (Menteng, Kemang, Sudirman). If they shop in luxury grocery stores like Ranch 99 or Food Hall, their groceries would cost the same as anywhere else in the western world, probably even more.
Sure, the richest man still enjoys his favorite snack from a regular food vendor, but he also probably has fine dining chef on his payroll.

Actually, it is only natural that most Indonesian billionaire are Chinese, since the identity politics in Indonesia is still very strong, it is difficult for them to become civil servants or military, and yeah... the only way to survive is to do business. Nothings bad about being a billionaire in Indonesia. That screams just how much out of touch weathly people are. Indonesia is full of poverty and starving kids. You think they would say “the wealth gap” this is why the world and geo politics is the most disgusting grotesquely immoral thing. Money isn’t real its man made. There’s enough money in the world for everyone to have three billion dollars each. But they want the lowest people to grovel and do shit jobs with a prayer they will be something one day. The gap of the wealthy will alway climb because banks punish the poor and give high interest saving rates to people with money. This will never change with geopolitics, with the governments main goal to keep people always working till we die. We have super stores throwing out billions of dollars in food rotting on shelves because its not bought fast enough because of cost, but we have people starving in the streets.

No im sorry their country is stil very in need of desperate help. Look up third world countries... Indonesia is on there. Just because it peaked at the 2% in growth capita doesn’t mean that the people all of a sudden saw a piece of that pie. More people died in Indonesia from covid then italy during the second wave because thousands of people are in low infrastructure areas with zero ability to afford vaccines. Seeing how my family travel to countries giving woman toiletries, pasta rice, birth control and condoms with our church when they let up on restrictions...I will keep to what I saw with my own eyes which was children dying of dysentery from zero clean drinking water. It is a non block country meaning third world rising the population increase instantly increases the ammount of money that is made but this doesn’t mean that each person makes more money I can strictly say this is why they are on our annual church roster to visit for mission aid packages and we raise funds. Because their government is one of the most corrupt, swindling money into their military making kids have zero education and absolutely shit health care and shit income support you are so dense to think because they have a purchasing increase this means their people get fed their government is as corrupt as lybia they purchase arms not shelters for their homeless like most third world nations. It recieves the least in foreign aid because it is not apart of nato. Again why our me and my church congregation goes there for charity aid. Being a billionaire here doesn't worth much. A nice new car is worth over a billion, IDR that is. So being a billionaire in Indonesia is considered middle class. lol.
