The residences the US and Canadian officials stayed at were being frequently fumigated due to the Zika virus that’s transmitted through mosquitoes and the pesticide used had a component that inhibited an enzyme needed for proper nervous system functioning

Both authors latch onto a random person in Werner's life - one Wentworth Prentice, the other Han Shou-ch'ing - and then built an entire narrative around how that person killed her. To my knowledge there is no evidence that such a sex slavery ring even existed as described in the first book, or any real reason why Han should have been considered a killer in the second.

When cops declare a death a suicide in the face of absolutely undeniable evidence to the contrary, you can almost bet that the perpetrator is either a cop or someone int he legal or political system. We finished work at around 11 pm and we went our separate ways. He had asked my brother and I to go with him as some added muscle as we were two big looking guys (I’m tall my brothers stocky). We had said no as we really didn’t want to get involved in something potentially illegal and he never told us the whole story or who he was meeting. About a week goes by and we dont hear from him or see him at work so we send him a message on facebook and Snapchat to see if he will respond....nothing. We didn’t think it was suspicious in any way as we work in film and he saw himself as Heath Ledger when it came to auditions, locking himself away and never talking to anyone in prepping for a role, hell he even wanted to audition for big brother canada by going on top of the san fransico bridge and waving a Canadian flag talking about how he would win and what he would do with the money. Now More time goes by and my brother looks on snap and see his bitmoji going around BC. Then one day it just stops. The Sumter County Does case was at least partially solved. Their names were Pamela Buckley and James Freund, and they were identified using DNA in 2021. However, their murderer is still unknown. (It sounds as if the person you mentioned is one of the most likely suspects, though!)

11:36 Update: DNA Doe Project identified the Sumter County Does. Sumter County Sheriff's Office announced their names in a presser. Jock Doe was *James Paul Freund (JPF)* of Lancaster, PA, Jane Doe was *Pamela Mae Buckley* of Colorado Springs, CO. Both were reported missing in 1975 and likely met while hitchhiking. James was 30 and Pamela was 25 when they died. The murder investigation is still ongoing. Sheriff said they hope in the next few month to be able to publicly identify their killer. Rest in peace. Edit: Apparently James played football in high school (which explains the contact sport angle) and served in the Army and was stationed in Germany in 1966 (which explains the type of tooth filling which was rare in the US but maybe not in Europe).
Stagger Lee To me they were definitely from another country. Someone in the US would’ve reported their loved one/friend missing, it’s not like their face is completely unrecognizable. It makes more sense if they were after a drug kingpin since the police of that area would’ve feared the cartel and perhaps paid them off to drop the case or do a sloppy job at it.
Stagger Lee finding the murder weapon doesn't mean they can prove who did it. Imagine the following scenario: someone shoots a person. They sell the gun to get rid of it. You come along and buy the gun, obviously unaware it was used in a crime. Police pull you over and find the gun. They prove it was the one used in the crime. Should you be charged with it just based on that?

That first one really reminds me of a scishow video about "hauntings" where they discussed a laboratory with a fan that emitted sounds at a specific frequency that caused strange symptoms in the people who worked there. It makes me wonder if maybe there was something in the buildings that was emitting a frequency of sound that just happened to cause this serious illness. It is odd, though, that they could never pinpoint where the sound was coming from. And the idea of some kind of virus or illness spreading seems reasonable since often workers at embassies don't even leave very often, so maybe food or proximity could spread something. I hope they find the answer soon though, those poor essential employees at that base had better be getting good pay..

The Sumter County Does case was at least partially solved. Their names were Pamela Buckley and James Freund, and they were identified using DNA in 2021. However, their murderer is still unknown. (It sounds as if the person you mentioned is one of the most likely suspects, though!)

5:56 Hospital grade ultrasonic washers make the same sound. It may sound quiet and thus harmless but it's 80 dB and causes damage if being exposed to it long enough.

11:36 Update: DNA Doe Project identified the Sumter County Does. Sumter County Sheriff's Office announced their names in a presser.
Jock Doe was *James Paul Freund (JPF)* of Lancaster, PA, Jane Doe was *Pamela Mae Buckley* of Colorado Springs, CO.
Both were reported missing in 1975 and likely met while hitchhiking. James was 30 and Pamela was 25 when they died. The murder investigation is still ongoing. Sheriff said they hope in the next few month to be able to publicly identify their killer. Rest in peace.
Edit: Apparently James played football in high school (which explains the contact sport angle) and served in the Army and was stationed in Germany in 1966 (which explains the type of tooth filling which was rare in the US but maybe not in Europe).

Stagger Lee To me they were definitely from another country. Someone in the US would’ve reported their loved one/friend missing, it’s not like their face is completely unrecognizable. It makes more sense if they were after a drug kingpin since the police of that area would’ve feared the cartel and perhaps paid them off to drop the case or do a sloppy job at it.

Should you be charged with it just based on that?

That first one really reminds me of a scishow video about "hauntings" where they discussed a laboratory with a fan that emitted sounds at a specific frequency that caused strange symptoms in the people who worked there. It makes me wonder if maybe there was something in the buildings that was emitting a frequency of sound that just happened to cause this serious illness. It is odd, though, that they could never pinpoint where the sound was coming from. And the idea of some kind of virus or illness spreading seems reasonable since often workers at embassies don't even leave very often, so maybe food or proximity could spread something. I hope they find the answer soon though, those poor essential employees at that base had better be getting good pay..
