    What do you guys think of Adobe Dimension? Have you ever used it before?

      how do we make a trophy in adobe dimension?

    • @CaryHawkins
      @CaryHawkins  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can either buy one from a place like this: stock.adobe.com/3d-assets/large-trophy-cup/190424920
      Or make one in Photoshop. I haven't done this yet, so I don't have a video up on it yet. I'm still getting used to Dimension myself. There are some other tutorials that explain it though. I need to get one made ASAP!

    It's really handy, I use it to mock up packaging and serve that to the factory for reference.... No more cutting pieces of paper and sticking it to boxes so they know how the finished carton should look.

    • @CaryHawkins
      @CaryHawkins  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I use it mostly to give clients a better proof. A solid color, minimal design might not be as attractive in a flat jpg or pdf proof, but with full dimension and lighting, the client is more likely to see the appeal of the design.

      @@CaryHawkins yes I agree, the assets are a little limited unless you are extremely clever with illustrator you can actually make your own (never tried). Overall though it does serve a purpose and the speed you can get a nicely rendered product out with a little Photoshop background is rapid.

    I can't quite figure out what dimensions (ha!) to make my artwork so that it will fit appropriately on the model - any tips, besides trial and error?

    • @CaryHawkins
      @CaryHawkins  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, or measure something in real life to get the right ratio. It would at least get you close.

    • @ionutp92
      @ionutp92 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      1. Export at higher resolution than you need. Say your label is 4 by 4 cm, make it 12 by 12 cm at 300dpi.
      2. When added on an object, the label will never fit from the start. You gotta scale it and move it around a little.
      3. To get the size of a model, first check its size from adobe dimension. Drop it in the scene and check its properties.
      4. If you want to make something at real size, adjust your model at the real-life size and then at the label.

    Does Dimension gives shadow shadow and camera angle feature like Blender?

    • @CaryHawkins
      @CaryHawkins  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I've used blender a bit, but I'm not that familiar with it. There are lighting, camera, and shadow options in Dimension. I'm not sure if they are as extensive, but they are definitely good enough for mockup purposes, which is what Dimension seems to be primarily built for. For my uses, Dimension is faster and easier to use than Blender.

    Thanks for this video! Quick question: how do you get the mock up to render so sharply? Every time I go to render the image, it still retains a slight "blurriness". Anyone else experienced this?

    • @CaryHawkins
      @CaryHawkins  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Check the resolution of your artboard. It may not be high enough.

    • @CaryHawkins

      It's easier than blender for me. It's not as capable though. It's just great for simple mockups.

    what were the dimensions of the label PNGs?

    • @CaryHawkins
      @CaryHawkins  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I actually used a graphic I designed for a good pouch, but it looked good on a coke can, and Dimension has that nice splash that comes with it, so that setup made more sense for a quick mockup tutorial. The graphic was about 4.5"x6.5". The exact size isn't as important as the ratio, assuming the resolution is good.

    How to create a 3D mockup in which we can include the elements like dry fruits, pluses etc.,

    • @CaryHawkins
      @CaryHawkins  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You'd probably just need to find models online to purchase or make them in something like Blender. Dimension is not great for creating models other than simple stuff. It's better for quick mockups using pre-existing models.

    How can I make these same professional mockups but animated? Having the soda fly out the can and twirl around and dance around or pills bottle cap twisting off and pills flying around.

    • @CaryHawkins
      @CaryHawkins  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You'll have to use a 3d animation software. Dimension is not setup for animation. Blender might work. Cinema 4D is good too.
