Oregon Coast Roadbook - Day 2 - Death of the Ténéré

We left Neotsu in the misty morning hours, turning our backs to the Pacific and skirting the edge of Devil's Lake before climbing up into the forest for another 250+ miles of exploring.
This day was the deciding factor against the Yamaha Ténéré 700; not only could I not keep up with Jubal (@jbrown590) on his Kove Rally 450 Pro Race, I had to work hard to simply keep the bike tracking correctly. It was rough.
Add in the immediate and absolute failure in the sand dunes, and this was the end of my - as Jubal put it - 'Short Tarrés' ideas.
The results made it abundantly clear I was not the right physique to bully this bike into compliance.
Where my KTM 790 ADV could handle single track and sand with ease even fully loaded at 432lbs, the Yamaha floundered on gravel roads.
So why bother? Bye bye Ténéré (and good riddance).
