Kurt Angle is the most lovable wrestler of all time, fans, wrestlers & promotions always cheered for him. Regardless on his role of a baby face or a heel, part timer or full time employee.

Kurt Angle was like a wild eyed crazed machine in his early TNA days and this match is a definite classic it was like watching two vicious bulldogs fighting for territory
I feel like all wrestling promotions that come from 1 specific arena or venue always have a special kind of atmosphere to them, ECW, early TNA, NXT, Progress, PWG etc, all kept to one specific place for recorded shows. Helped add a personality that was unique to each promotion.

I loved their first trilogy of matches, but they should have held off on Joe vs. Angle for a year. Build it up, having Joe and Angle destroying everyone else in their path. Then having Joe go over. Their matches are great, they are classic but the build up could have been more.
Imagine of Joe had won this one instead of the rematch... That would have been the right call honestly and build to the rematch as Joe being the only one to defeat Kurt and Kurt working back towards the rematch. And make it for the belt. That would have been a better story. But still TNA's best feud.

I'm going back to watch some classic TNA matches and this one did not fail to deliver. I feel like 2006 was a double-edged sword for Kurt Angle as he was in his prime but was also battling enormous demons in the form of 65 extra-strength Vicodin tablets every day. It really is a miracle that Kurt Angle is still alive to this day because there are so many people in the history of professional wrestling who were never able to pin their drug addiction(s) for a 3-count and they ultimately lost their lives. Eddie Guerrero is the greatest example of that. Thanks for uploading this classic, IMPACT!
