Thats a great collection and very well presented my friend.,,i was in a field recently and detected a old brass lightshade fitting and as i dug down i realised it was actually a small hidden rubbish pit with old pottery and old ..bottles in it ..
@@TheUltimateRecycler Isn’t it? Not as good as being custodian to an intact piece of course, but still. I also have a fragment of green speckled pottery I believe to have been made by Thomas Ball, circa 1801-1823, one of the earliest recorded European potters of the colony. Just need to have it examined by a specialist. Love your documentation 👍👍
@@TheUltimateRecycler the northern territory is where we found this stuff 30 odd Year ago can I send you a pic of what we got I'm just starting to find interest in these things to find out how old they might be or find like minded people who know a lot more than myself

Thanks Melandluke. Unfortunately it won't be that old - Australia didn't start making glass bottles until the 1870s. If you like you can look up "The Ultimate Recycler" on facebook and post a photo there. I'll have a look at it for you :) Cheers, Chris
The Ultimate Recycler fantastic I have quite a few old bottles but it seems Newcastle hunter area seems to be full of Nsw bottle company bottles I’ll dig it out in a few months and certainly take a picture when you move house . I have seen one other bottle like it at a museum in the rocks Sydney but just had no info
When they pop up I watch them. This was very interesting. Thank you
Haha, that's great! Thanks Cynthia! 😊

This is fascinating. I found fragments of Jonathan Leak convict bottles in my garden some time ago. Have them in a beautiful display wall-mount.
That's awesome - some great early Australian history right there! 👌😊
