I think that most Japanese people don't prioritize how much money they make at the beginning. In Japan, many couples continue working after they are married, so women who want men to work for them are difficult to find a partner. But, in recent times, young Japanese individuals aspire to greater personal freedom and the ability to lead independent lives. As a result, the key emphasis shifts towards how they spend time together and how they carve out their own paths within married life.
