- This has got to be one of the most unique and unexplored parts of Meru!
Come along with us to Lake Magado in the Igembe North Region.
It was nice to take a day off from our regular homeschool routine and take a field trip/adventure together as a family.

I am from Seattle, WA, originally from Somalia. I am so excited to watch for your hiking trip!
In 1992, we started driving to Kenya from Mogadishu, Somalia. We arrived Mandera Kenya to Wajir Kenya, rested for hours in Beautiful Golden Green Meru had a lunch then came to Nairobi, Kenya. It was the happiest road trip of my life.
I hope one day Somalia goes back to its former glory so that it is a prosperous nation for everyone.

Iombe in Igembe. It is also one of the sacred places of Ameru. Last video, you chewed Miraa, a sacred plant and now visited one of the sacred spaces. You are indeed connecting with the Meru land and the ancestors 😂

Kenya has splendid sights of nature...unspoilt..
The drought right now looks bad...global climate repercussions ....this needs serious environmental mitigation..especially from government and unep..
And this coloured water pools should be lab tested for safety or any good use...before use.
I'm pretty sure the communities over there have learned the water and salt's safety through experience and direct interaction with them. You just heard them classify the human safe one and the cow safe one. I have nothing against testing but it's probably gonna involve some greedy biochemist who might even discourage them from using it while finding ways to export it. I love that there's still parts of nature that are untouched by modern science.
So what will George use that pink liquid he collected for?

kenya has many hidden/unknown wonders. wouldn't be shocked if ancient garden of eden is unearthed there.
In Uganda there’s a salt given to cows. It’s harvested from salt lakes like this one. The salt is called EKISURA and cows lick the salt 🪨 rock and love it
That’s interesting! I guess I never realized it was a specific kind of salt that was given to cows..
I needed that. I've come to love such arid lands. Am very interested in all those tribes. I wonder if it's an impact crater. That more logical. Some mountains I saw and some stone debrises need further investigation. Hanging with your family always bring me surefire joy. I will need to visit that place as soon as am in Kenya. Will need to read that book and history. Love your family blogs for life.

Lake Magadi is also a salt lake with some multi coloring. Your kids are blessed to be getting their homeschooling in such a diverse natural environment.
