During dada's tenure as captain of KKR, the team did not have good players and non availability of best players like Gayle (injury during first season), Mccullum and ponting made an impact on team's performance and KKR is also over dependant on Pakistani players who were not available in 2nd & 3rd seasons of IPL. The team balance got effected very badly and sourav tried very hard for his team to qualify for the semis especially in third season where he scored 493 runs and he is the 4th highest run getter of the tournament but he was ignored by KKR in the 4th season which made me feel very bad. Interestingly Rahul Dravid got picked by Rajasthan Royals who had an average IPL 3 season but there were no takers for Ganguly whom I think a much better player than Rahul in T20 format.
Pune team took Ganguly in 2011. It was venky's decision to shuffle the whole team. McCullum and Manoj tiwary are the only players from first 3 seasons who have continued in the 4th season

Kkr management should have been retained sourav ganguly as a player and gowtam gambhir as a new capitan then kkr would have been more successful team in ipl now with many trophies. Even then sourav ganguly was a third leading run scorer in ipl 2010 that the mistake of kkr have done not retaining sourav ganguly as a player then gowtam gambhir would have been best left handed batsmen in the world by taking guidance from sourav ganguly.
I think he retired in 2012 and I am sure he couldn't play for kkr after that for sure so what could have happened that happened
