- COLLEGE FOOTBALL 25 : THE STATE OF THE GAME
In this video I'm taking an early look at some of the high level ways I think CFB25 is succeeding, as well as some notable areas in need of improvement and patching as we wrap up the first couple weeks on the game.
While I hope to cover some of the bigger ticket stuff, I know this will not be anywhere close to an exhaustive list of the ways the game is both great and could use adjusting. Our voices are stronger together and we stand to accomplish the most by approaching things with patience and an open mind. YES there plenty of broken bits in CFB25. There is also a groundwork of excellent football gaming worth celebrating as well.

Love this game, but here's Dynasty offline suggestions...
- Trophy Room: This is sorely needed! Over my 30 years, I want to see my coach's title & rivalry trophies, Heisman & award trophies, etc
- Coach Accomplishments: We shouldn't need spreadsheets to better track our coach high-level accomplishments. Show me a screen with each season's W-L record & conference and/or bowl badge wins. This should be the current "Coach Contract" screen, but it resets if you switch to new jobs. Really sucks w/ the lack of a visual high-level coach career view.
- Stadium & Campus Upgrades: To add replayability for building up a small school into a powerhouse, let us upgrade our stadium capacity/renovations, Campus Life upgrades, etc. It should take years to earn these, but it'd dangle a long-term carrot.
- Better Stat Menu Overlays: When scrolling thru the Heisman Watch or Award Finalists screens, nowhere on the screen does it show each player's season cumulative stats. Instead, it weirdly shows player badges or recruiting info. I also can't click a button to pop-up that player's profile to see stats. Should be an easy and very intuitive fix.

@@FendlerYT I played these games throughout my childhood from NCAA 03 and on... so much love :) My friend and I each text daily with dynasty updates in our coach careers. I created a Dynasty Tracker sheet that we use. EA is off to a great start... just want more :)

For Road to Glory: Skill Points earned in games or practice aren't actually given. Only the skill points earned in weekly agenda are actually given. Our players can't level up the way they should.
-Recruiting ATH position needs nerfed, especially for QB’s.
-recruits shouldn’t have their “type” listed I.e (scrambler, improviser). It should be more of a surprise once they get on campus.
Add formation substitutions, mass subs, and add ability to remove auto save to start with. Also, when starting a dynasty provide more then one coach as an option.
Need to let me change plays as a QB in Road to Glory, or give me 8-9 plays. 3 plays and all runs on 3rd downs with no way to change it is a little bullshit.
I also feel you about going for the natty and playing a Scrub. I beat the breaks off of UAB 96-14 in the semis to reach the national title game. UAB was like 9-4 with a 77 overall ranking.
completely agree on the RTG. I'm looking for more ways to have fun with that mode but the play selection is tough

I went to edit a players gear and they striped him of all his attributes literally he was a 12 over all with no way to improve him on dynasty. I had to suggest he transfer at the end of the season. Also player turn around to bat down passes out of nowhere to often.
Okay, so the Visit bug obviously, but the rubber banding in particular is insane. There are difficulty options, just let me use them. If I personally adjust the sliders, don't have the CPU move them around during the game. Or make dynamic difficulty one of the options. Also let my Dynasty coach use my created playbooks. And yes pursuit angles are trash.
Great comms, as always! I think the dynasty bugs crashing games like the one you said are some of the biggest issues I have seen so far. Kills the immersion and ruins the vibe, especially as a fellow streamer

bro, it's not Just Hawaii's pipeline as an issue, if you use Hawaii for a quick test in Dynasty, any recruit FROM HAWAII has an "F" rating for "Proximity to Home"... like, how?!?!

Correct the roughing the kicker percentage to about 2 to 3 percent of the time! Roughing the passer came also move the percentage back some! I get roughing the kicker even when I'm not send anything on !Sometimes they go after anyway ...lol !!! It is as if the CPU saiding nope I know its fourth and 25 but it's time going to be first down again us 🤣
they said they patched that in the early one but I am NOT seeing it myself lol

everything about this game is amazing except GAMEPLAY. this game was made for Madden players and that's its downfall. Would love to see RTG get an update, with QB1 able to call audibles.

I'm happy to have a game for the first time in 11 years. The gameplay is incredible imo. But the game feels like a beta build.
The recruiting in Dynasty is pretty solid. Still pretty easy to get great classes though. Would love to see a difficulty slider for it though for those who want a real challenge.
Dynasty feels like play now with recruiting. It feels very empty. Solid UI/presentation would fix this drastically. Would love to see more actions weekly such as game planning for opponents too.
There are also inconsistencies with customization. Would love to see them at least be consistent. Like being able to edit recruits like we can with generated players on the base roster. This seems like a bug though because there is a setting in dynasty setup.
Dynasty poll logic is really rough. LSU was 7-6 and ended up 11th in my latest season higher ranked than several 3 loss P4 teams.
If you stay too long at a school as a coordinator, the CPU signs a 1 year extension for you and you can't take other jobs.
Upgrade stadiums - simple fix could be letting us access generic team builder stadiums.
Dynamic attendance is cool, but would love to see it happen through the season. If a G5 school is ranked, there stadium should be packed out.
Honestly I have so many suggestions lol but I'll stop here and just say, we have a great foundation. Hopefully things will improve and the game will become the gold standard in many ways.
Yeah the 2k sim crowd just wore out their welcome at this point lol....The most fun football game since the the PS3 days by miles imo....This was a good balanced and professional take on your part.... a few things of note as an offline player: During snow games in Boise State, field isn't blue...to some not a huge deal but im sure it is to those who are fans of the Broncos. Some things I'd like to see that dont break my experience but would enhance it in the future....The Trophy Room is sorely missed as well as the top 10 greatest games....two of the best features of the old games, and something of lesser importance is Coaches having head sets.... and finally I hear ya in wanting to listen to the comp guys but my one great fear is, if the game is tuned too much it could take away from why this game is so fun...like all the missed and broken tackles for instance, I get everyone's frustration with them at times but at the same time it also adds to a lot of excitement and realism .

Would like to have mass substitution incorporated into the game!Flags in stadium blowing to represent wind 🌬️ blowing and time change effects on 4, 6, and 8 O'clock games!More guys like 30 to look more like a hold team entering on run out to start the game.A helmet flying off every now and then and guys taken to the medical tents being that that are on the sidelines now. This is a great foundation built for CF 25 to me for sure.

How about this bug: Select "hard sell" but "soft sell" will actually be chosen. Mainly happens when you have an unknown interest (but 2 knowns).

@@FendlerYT I'm on playstation, but it happens ... 25% of the time if I'm guessing on a hard sell (only 2 knowns).
Does anyone else have the issue in dynasty where your players have the attributes to have certain physical badges / badge levels .
But there is no update in the UI. I can’t tell if it’s just not showing or if it really just not being applied as far as gameplay because i don’t really see it lighting up

I was beating down on Georgia on my Arkansas state dynasty I only usually super sim kickoffs and pats and then it froze me and had to restart the game

Dynasty: your players' stats and awards seem to have nothing to do with whether or not they go pro. It only uses overall ratings to determine who goes to the NFL, which is bonkers. They need to tune that. Also, the round a player is selected in seems entirely based on their overall rating.

As a newbie/casual, dynasty is fun and addicting. I wanted to like CUT but unfortunately they give no dopamine hits to casuals as the rewards are few and far between and we get stuck playing against the sweats or people that got glitches and are not able to play against friends crossplay as the misleading advertisement suggested. I would be willing to pay for packs if prices were reasonable and good cards were expected but no such thing has happened. Dynasty is definitely the gem mode of the game and I'm nit sure how they could make it better
agree on the limited excitement sometimes in CUT, the big pulls are few and far between if you aren't dedicating a bit of time and effort to the mode. but glad you're also enjoying it so far

Auto recruiting is absolutely garbage. I tried a dynasty where i just sim everything to just see what happens and every year my coach recruits like 50 kickers and punters and like 30 fullbacks and i end up barely having enough people on my team.

@@FendlerYT i just wanted to see what happened if you literally did nothing and somehow took eastern Michigan to the playoffs in 3 years with barely enough players on O and D and a shit load of kickers and fullbacks. Actually pretty hilarious as an experiment but i highly advise against auto recruiting until they maybe fix it.

@@FendlerYT exactly it’s been missing and it could have more features that 14 did but when u compare this to any madden it destroys it.. I missed NCAA so bad I got 13 14 and a 360 in beginning of the year lol love the content and positivity brother

It makes it even worse that they meant for Dynasty to be so “Dynamic” 🤦🏽♂️ Please tell me what I have to do to win a championship then?? Other than play a lot of games. Like can they tell us what is the coding to get Great Results during Sim?? Cause it’s not just building the best rosters 🤷🏽♂️ How it should be. I like to build teams, and see what they can do on their own. And only play the big games. If I wanted to play games over and over I’d play online 🤦🏽♂️

Fendler you are great, content is great, quality is great. But it's off putting seeing you reading a script the whole time and not facing the camera. @@FendlerYT How is generational even on your radar with this game. It has so many issues that won't even be touched util several editions down the road, if at all. I mean it's EA we're dealing with. There are still parts of this game that are in Beta. You lost a lot of credibility when you said that. Yikes!
Custom Conferences in Dynasty tends to mess up the schedules, despite you confirming the conference rules. I thought Nebraska had a good year after moving them to the Big 12 but I looked at their schedule and they played mostly FCS Teams.
heard that about some specific conferences and I think a few may have been fixed in the pre-patch? not certain though
It’s really bad. I tried to just change SEC to play 9 games a year from 8. It put me on road against Auburn and Bama 3 years in a row. Really frustrating, they should just unlock the schedules at this point.

The engine is just so old and animations have been layered for so much they clip into each other. I also don’t like the animation system because it’s predestination once it’s in that animation that’s it nothing will change the outcome.
They need to build a new physics based engine from the ground up that’s exclusively for sports
@@iRacerJared not sure how to tell you this but it’s a brand new engine with no legacy code at all so this is just kind of old talking points man. Game is awesome. Gotta leave that attitude behind lol
@@FendlerYT It’s running on frostbite my guy, it isn’t new and the animations are from madden. They need a proper sports engine not one made for fps. The last sports game I played was NCAA 11 and the same stupid stuff that annoyed me then is still present, being sucked into blocking or tacking animations, guys catching the ball tucking it then just dropping it for an incomplete. OL just completely lost or blind, defensive plays that have you dead to eights then either pull up or switch directions so the game gives you that big play dopamine hit.
I get you are an internet guy so you have to play nice but sooner or later guys like you will have to start calling out EA for putting out the same tired broken game. This product isn’t good enough Madden 25 isn’t good enough
