Thank you very much, Neil, for these crime tips you share with us. They are greatly appreciated and I'm sure what the chums have learned from you has increased our awareness and probably prevented quite a few crimes.
This is not the England we know and love. Years ago a train journey was a pleasure. No, not anymore what with your luggage not safe and not yourself and especially the young people who can't travel by themselves anymore even at a age we think is safe ?? Hello chums ❤
I agree; we went to London on the train last year and enjoyed it far less than in previous years. We're looking at days out now that don't involve cities.
Need to stop voting Labour or Conservative. Both the major parties have allowed this to happen. The Conservatives stood by the last 20 years and allowed massive demographic change to take place and didn't even stop the illegal immigrants coming in. All they care about is the economy but it's the economy that's meant to serve the people, not the other way around.
Terrible to hear. Why has khan been given an honour. He is absolutely disgraceful in his job of looking after what once was one of the best cities in the world to visit. He should be fired as he is hopeless in his job.
If you were more intelligent than a fart you would know that no London Mayor has had the power to devise and implement policies on tackling crime; that power lies with the government and the Metropolitan Police Commissioner, the Mayor merely controls the budget for policing. Lastly London’s violent crime rate was just as high when Bozo was the Mayor, why didn’t you criticise Bozo?, because you are a bigot.
He managed to defend his voters, the asian male community, and their culture. And he got the police to sanction people writing the truth on signs, while letting terrorist supporters anti-semitics roam London streets over and over again in hate marches unrivaled by the British law and limitations to free speach. For the these people voting on him he is a hero… for normal people that grew up with British laws and culture this seems absurd.
Grew up travelling into and around London and was taught from a young age to be aware of what is around you and basically be street smart. Bags in front of you, phones with wrist strap cases, don't leave luggage unattended etc. This is about not making yourself an easy target, good advice for whichever city you are in. We are more and more in our own worlds and on phones, you see it at major railway stations, people glancing between their phone and the departure boards, no idea of who is around them and not even having a hand on their case. In the 1990s a lad on a bike tried to pull off my dad's camera bag whilst he was walking towards Victoria station, unfortunately for the lad dad had a security strap round his waist, my dad wasn't upset, he was chuffed to bits he had outsmarted the kid. He saw it as a game/battle of wills. I agree we need something to be done to improve things, but please carry on enjoying our cities just don't make yourself an easy "mark" otherwise they win.
Just terrible Neil. The rise in crime had put me off visiting London and some other big cities somewhat but I think we shouldn't let these crooks win! We need to be alert to anyone suspicious & keep our eyes on our stuff which I usually do. If it's a short stay, I only have a backpack, locks on, anti theft pockets & can usually keep that with me on the train. Won't drive into London, nightmare now. Thank you to our trusty Chum Neil for always alerting us to these things! ..

Sorry you're going through that. It's awful when your device is hacked, today especially given people's livelyhoods, photos, payments, banking etc and email all linked and taken over by cyber criminals! Been there, feel for you. Hope you'll manage to shut them down. Things are more sophisticated now.
That's one of the main reasons why the traditional oyster card is the means of ticketing. Don't use that phone for transactions where you have to carry it always with you and have to show this valuable item often in public.
I saw a man put his luggage on the rack then he used a bike chain to attach it to the rails. He also sat close by facing it. I was inspired by this and thought I would do this the next time I take luggage in a train.
I have a short length of chain that I got at a DIY store and a small travel padlock that I use to secure my bag when I go to a pub or café alone. I padlock my bag closed but also use the chain & padlock while doing that to secure my bag to my chair or table. I don't keep valuables in my bag but it's nice to know that it will still be there if I go to the bar, counter, lavatory etc. It's important to note that when the chain and padlock are not in use, you're not allowed to keep the padlock attached to the chain. Having a hard weight - the padlock - on a length of chain is an offensive weapon under the Offensive Weapons Act 2019. It's punishable by an unlimited fine, a mandatory minimum sentence of six months and a maximum of four years.

I recently saw a sign which was posted in London “people will be fined who urinate or defecate on the street” what the hell had happened to the UK when people have to be reminded not to do this absolutely disgusting.

I cannot believe the change in Britain and in particular, London. As Brit born Australian, I read with horror of grooming gangs, knife attacks and the youth running gangs just taunting the Police who seen powerless against them. I pray that Britain can return to its past peaceful times.
Sadly it will take decades to return to its former glory. Especially when we have all the illegals being protected from deportation. We need protecting, what about our human rights. And no I'm not racist , I have many friends from European countries and Asia.
Thank you Neil - it's always good to be reminded to be vigilant - shame that we have to, but unfortunately that's the world we live in. The mayor of London relies on the block votes cast using the postal votes system. This used to be only available for those who had a legitimate reason for not attending a polling station, but has now been opened up so anyone can apply. So what happens, certain groups get their supporters to sign up for postal votes and then the group fills in the voting slip for their preferred candidate and post them back on mass.
I am one of those that uses postal voting for mobility reasons. But I feel that the security for these votes need to be strengthened. Fortunately I do not live in London, I live in a rural area.

When we were in London we dressed down too and I have a Halifax account as well as an Australian 🇦🇺 one but any tourist places we went to I used my UK 🇬🇧 bank card and me and my son obviously have British accents so we didn’t look like tourists. We made sure my daughter didn’t wander off especially in Covent Garden and Piccadilly and we told her we would do the talking as she has a broad Aussie accent so she could be targeted. We were safe but we were vigilant but we live in Brisbane so we have to be careful when we go into the city.

Neil theft off trains isn't a new thing. My rucsac was stolen off a train in the late 1980s. Transport police told me it was not uncommon. I can remember asking why there were not warnings about it. I had been sitting in the same carriage as the bag which was at the end in the luggage rack. I didn't see it get taken, I was reading. It was very distressing and now I never take my eyes off any luggage. The theft from car boots is not something I've seen or heard of before, but I'm guessing it's gangs that operate all over Europe doing things like that.
This guy is 100% correct. I see this with my own eyes when I travel from Kings X and Euston to see my family. You see undesirables knocking around who are obviously not travellers looking to steal what they can. This was not the case 30 years ago. London has gone downhill massively plus all the stabbings too!!
My family are originally from Austria, Holland and Switzerland and flatly refuse to visit me in the UK. They see all the stabbings, shootings, assaults and total lawlessness and don’t want to risk it. I fended off would-be intruders two years ago - the bloody Police didn’t even get involved because “It wasn’t captured on CCTV” so it would be my word against the intruders, FFS! I hate it here.
A few years ago I used to love London, restaurants, the theatres and sporting events, not anymore, don't miss it either and my mental health is, shall we say, marvellous
I grew up near St Pancras station in the fifties and sixties and it was supposed to be rough, but it really really wasn't it was safe to walk about. I remember one burglary in our street and our neighbour had his expensive racing cycle stolen from outside his flat. Although I can't understand why he left it outside my bike I always wheeled into my bedroom. I left London for a new town in 1970 and all our governments should hang their heads in shame for what they've allowed to happen since.
The best thing in London this week - I met Neil at a bus stop trying to get home from work! 😊 Being a foreigner working in London for a few decades, it’s so sad to see the downfall of the city that I fell in love with many years ago. It's safer in Mexico
Why take the risk? Unless you like theatres, at galleries, or overpriced stuff then what's the point. You can buy all the goods you want online now anyway.
@@sandgrownun66 you stay at home then in your fear bubble ordering crap online. Enjoy.
@@jackjones544 Who rattled your cage, Jacky? Why would anybody go to London unless they had to? People used to visit specifically to get things they couldn't buy at home. Now they don't need to. If you're saying that you've never bought anything cheap online, then you're lying. As for a "fear bubble" that's your term, not mind. I'll go anywhere, if there's a reason to. Next you'll be saying that Afghanistan is the perfect holiday destination. The crime rate in London has quadrupled in the last few decades. Isn't that something to bear in mind? It's also what this whole video is about.
I’m so sad that it has come to this !
You should be angry
@ I’m sad that the London I visited for the first time a few years ago is no longer there! I loved the tube, the sights and sounds. Not feeling scared or on high alert, just able to enjoy everything.
These are important issues, and you are a trusted source. Thank you Neil. 🤝👋
Thank you Neil for all your good work
The people of beautiful London sure have been taken for a ride , one might say .
That’s terrible to know they have to warn people to be careful, how low Britain has fallen. That’s what you get when you let in third world countries. So sad to see what has become of a great city.
Thank you Neil for your input you tell it like it is well done cheers from Australia 🇦🇺
Neil , good of you to remind everyone how to remain vigilant when out and about ! It’s a shame that we gotta watch for thieves , scammers etc !
Glad she didn’t get hurt running after her bag !
I remember being told to vigilant back in the 80s, and the removal of bins from stations back in the day. Dad's just shown me a public information film from 1975 about pickpocketing in London. No mobile phones in the day to nicked!
Thank you very much, Neil, for these crime tips you share with us. They are greatly appreciated and I'm sure what the chums have learned from you has increased our awareness and probably prevented quite a few crimes.
Be careful Neil
This is not the England we know and love. Years ago a train journey was a pleasure. No, not anymore what with your luggage not safe and not yourself and especially the young people who can't travel by themselves anymore even at a age we think is safe ?? Hello chums ❤
I agree; we went to London on the train last year and enjoyed it far less than in previous years. We're looking at days out now that don't involve cities.
@@jackie0604oxon Hi me too !! Let's try some little known places like unknown places I'm stuck are you. ❤️
Honours mean Jack 💩 He probably paid for it to make himself look important. He knows in his heart that he is a useless idiot.
He should be in prison , for a long time
@ Why should he be in prison??????
Beautifully said!
Probably no different from the Victorian days of pickpockets and other low-life scallywags, except more of them.
I’m surprised the police were felt bothered enough to prosecute.
Good day Mr Sean👋👋👋 There are so many crooks out today. Stay safe everyone, be watchful and vigilant! Love and Peace from 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Loads of them are "in charge "
So scary! Thanks, Neil, for the warning.

Good evening, Neil! Thank you for this message!!
I’m so sorry you have to deal with the crime there in London. 😢
Not planning to travel again soon, but it's good to know. This is community service. Thank you, Neal. Hope things will change for good in Britain. ❤
Thank you so much Neil for this❤ American here, I love London and hope all our chums stay safe where ever they are! 🙏🏼👋🏼👋🏼👋🏼
Saddest times in Britain. Recently, my phone was taken over. 3 professional people couldn't get opened. They never had seen such. Do watch your personal information, also. ❤
@gluecksdrache2054 Exactly. I'm blessed. Use a phone to call others 😅. Not for personal information.
@judewebb5694 Still, working on it. Didn't store personal information. Thank you.
@ thank you for the warning about not attaching the lock! Excellent advice.
👋👋 Bless you Neil for ALWAYS saying it as it is with honesty, credibility and conviction, your powerful supportive words mean the world and really strike a chord like no other. Thank you for looking out for us when those in Authority do not, you are one in a million. Our beautiful City of London is tainted with fear and despair and it saddens me. But I thought this was all about London and no where else in the world has crime!
@roadie4360 There are 4 Countries in the UK alone , that doesn't include the small islands across the UK too....
This was happening in the early 2000s

Asians are around 21% of London. Pakistanis are only 3.5%. It's all the rich liberals who voted for him
From Londongrad to Londonstan..! I kind of look back with Romantic memmories of the 2005 day when a fat white British taxi driver charged me 15 pounds to drive me around victoria station and set me off 10 meters from where I got on, with the saying that my hotel was in that direction and I could walk from there. After 15 minutes walk and sweaty and tired I found the hotel. I get the Impression that most Londoners are scammers, thiefs and Criminals, So nothing changed much but the skincolor and the authoritarian level.
I always wear my handbag under my coat or pop it into my back pack which doubles as a small wheeled case. On the train, my back pack never leaves my side - its on the floor by my feet or even on my lap if the train is full.
Same here, where in the world I am.
Thank you, Neil, for trying to keep us safe. I have passed your words around my family & I hope they tell their friends to. ❤
Thanks, Neil. Always informative and speaking up for all of us 👍
Shocking state of affairs, Neil. When can the people vote him out?
The demographic does not allow for this eventuality, the recent population has caused a sea change.
@@maryminty5876 it's more like the lack of a decent alternative. There were too many candidates and it split the vote, remember he didn't have the majority vote for him.
@maryminty5876 Oh dear me. 🥴
Which is probably the reason for allowing in such huge numbers of foreigners. It's exactly what happened during Biden's disastrous time in power. It was not only Biden but others too who welcomed the influx of illegals to feather their own nests. They bussed them to areas to sway voting to their advantage, which is what we see happening in Great Britain. Follow the money to see exactly why this is being done on such a massive scale.@@maryminty5876

We have a great Mayor in Manchester. He is from the area and cares about the people by actually working in our interests 😊
Every time the London elections come, i am continually perplexed as to why they put this buffoon back into office. Surely they must know their quality of life has plummeted under his non leadership.
It's the useless system of first past the post. If there had been transferable votes (which was done away with) the story would have a been a different one.
60% are not British
British voters are a minority in London now. That's why.
Because no one bothered to vote only the ones of his ilk
Those with a vote in electing him are of the same ilk. London is not a city made up of traditional British residents.
As much as I/we enjoy the lovely sights you bring to along with the news! I worry about you, please watch your back or bring someone along with you! All the best to Neil.
The new WEF slogan, You will own nothing, you'll be mugged every time you leave home!!
i wonder how the ceo of de beres views the wef
Sadly I no longer visit London as much as I want to. "Sir" Sadiq Khan does nothing to promote safety
And the national Conservative government who actually controlled the Met did what?
@roadie4360 , it is only in the past 6 or 7 years that I have to hide my phone and wear a slash proof crossbody. Biking thieves are around day and night. Groups of teen boys clustering around Tube station entrances with scowls on their faces bumping into people trying to enter. Never felt compelled to do that before.

I.learnt on my very first solo journey as a young lady - never pack more than you can personally carry, nor anything you aren't prepared to lose. My Father (ex service man) gave me that advice and it has never failed me.
Crime is literally everywhere now and it really makes you wonder if there is anywhere that is actually safe these days and somehow I just don't think so. Nowadays we must be extremely careful but that is no guarantee you'll be safe.
Thank you Neil for the heads-up.
Thank you, Neil. I'm so grateful for your safety updates, I live in Newcastle Upon Tyne, but my younger sister travels via train to London quite regularly, alone, for work. It worries me sick, especially now, seeing what has become of our once beautiful capital city.
I think people should put more pressure on the slimey corrupt mayor of London and make him earn his inflated pay and that title he certainly didn't deserve 🤬👹
Hi chums 👋👋👋🇬🇧🏴
And look into his pay, it's massive and he does little for it bar ruining the City in my opinion!
He doesn't seem to care what people think and is thinking of running again. His friends will get him in again no doubt.
And where was the national Conservative government who actually appointed the chief of the Met! And cut 20000 experienced officers from the country's street in the name of austerity.

I recently saw a sign which was posted in London “people will be fined who urinate or defecate on the street” what the hell had happened to the UK when people have to be reminded not to do this absolutely disgusting.
Import the the third world en masse and guess what happens?
The people who need this sign, ironically, would not be able to read English.
Import shite get shit.
@ 🤣
Out of the 8.8 million who live in London, around 35% are native British. Amongst children the native British are around 25%. The old culture is going, it's just what happens when you don't have children.
😮Sad, better to carry unattractive luggage, dress poorly. I am going to England in April and will carry a s.all roller backpack. Mail home any items purchased. I never thought zi would feel uncomfortable regarding my safety visiting the U.K. Thank you Neil for the tips.
I am saddened to hear how unsafe London has become. I visited in 2019 and felt very safe (or maybe I was naive and got lucky). I found people on the streets and in shops to be very helpful.
So very sad😮
Thank you Neil - it's always good to be reminded to be vigilant - shame that we have to, but unfortunately that's the world we live in. My Dad always said to me whenever I travelled, "Have a wonderful time and always keep your wits about you." That is advice I consistently listen to, even when I'm not travelling. I see so many people walking along the street these days looking down at their phones, instead of being aware of what's going on around them. I often think to myself they're not even enjoying the beautiful day, noticing the sky or the sun or the nature around them - they're so engrossed in those phones! 🤷♀
Please be safe when you are out and about Neil.
Thank you Neil.
So you can't have anything nice, which you've worked hard to pay for because you become a target.
Best not to be on display. It's a shame but having those branded bags gave them the idea even more goodies would be inside plus if nothing else those bags would fetch a good price. Sad yes that you can't have those if you want to or risk this!

maybe she doesn't, bit she would be a rare ceo of a modern western company not to actively support all the stuff that has just victimised her.
after all its only 'supposed' to effect the rest of us isn't it.....
Thanks Neil your video's are always informative and helpful.
When me and my three friends travelled Europe we would leave our suitcases all chained together ( try moving four suitcases in one move!).Every time we arrived at a station we would take it in turns to guard our luggage until the train left again. We were never robbed.
That's a great idea! I will be using that on our trip to Europe this summer. 🙌
Britain needs a mayor with qualities like Donald Trump
So corrupt, fraudulent, misogynistic, power hungry and out for revenge?
@@JulieWillard-v2y No, you're confusing him with Boris.
I wonder if us mere mortals would have got that result from the police. I doubt it.

Look into Rochdale grooming gangs, Oldham g gangs, Rotherham g gangs. Basically serious failings in efforts to protect children. These were in the North of England but no doubt there were more in other areas.

We stayed in central London as tourists last year and I can't say I ever felt unsafe out and about, but we made sure we dressed down and kept our valuables well hidden. Maybe we were just lucky but we are naturally suspicious people and I think that helps too 🧐
@lorrainejohnston1460 I travelled home 🇬🇧from 🇦🇺twice last year to visit my elderly mother/gran and each time I spent a few days in London. The first time I was with my adult son and daughter and the second time I travelled on my own to 🇬🇧but spent a few days in London with friends. We just had a small bag strapped across our body under our jacket and my son had his phone and bank card zipped in his front pocket.
Neil 💎 Well Presented 👍
Indeed, this is the world we are now living in - the third world. Time and again politicians do nothing. Thanks for raising awareness Neil. Why would a tourist want to visit.

The growth non knife crime began while the Conservatives were in government, yet their Home Secretary did nothing either.
In September 2023 Priti Patel, the former Home Secretary, collected a Damehood, having been nominated in the Honours List by the former Mayor of London, Boris Johnson. So there, suckers!
Thanks for watching out for us Neil.

simple stay away from the dump!
I would use a handcuff to keep my luggage close to me at all times whilst travelling.
Really! In London? I thought this only happens in 3rd world country.
Well said on everything.
3:18 no need for the racism. Don’t blame the immigrants, blame the rich.
It's almost as though they don't want people to even visit London.
Rail travel here in Japan is great and RELAXING!!!!
Thank you for pointing this out. It's sickening that the loathsome Khan was knighted.
On my bucket list before I even knew I had cancer. I had already saved my money and had made plans to visit visit England this summer. Perhaps it is a blessing in disguise. It’s an odd blessing. I will never see England personally, but I get to see my nurse three times a week for chemo and I get to see my doctors every week. I get to see all these professionals. I’m afraid I might become cynical, and no longer even see them as people. So you chums in Britain be careful out there. Stay safe, something you have to take into your own hands because your mayor will take it from you if you don’t.
Not just London. Mind you I've always been untrusting of everyone.
I would like to visit London but I would not put my self in arm’s ways
It’s no longer safe
The best thing in London this week - I met Neil at a bus stop trying to get home from work! 😊 Being a foreigner working in London for a few decades, it’s so sad to see the downfall of the city that I fell in love with many years ago. My late parents visited London 20 odd years ago and I am glad they saw the city in its glory and had such a fond memory. 😢
Well warned Neil thank you 🇦🇺Some tips I learned travelling abroad were: travel light with a small bag kept close to you at all times. Wear costume jewellery and an inexpensive watch. Stay alert and scope out your surroundings. Have passport, cash & cards in a flat wallet worn within your clothes - not visible to thieves. These tips work wherever you are and on any mode of transport chums.
Stay safe Neil and UK chums 💯
Thank you Neil. You take care also.
Hi Neil, this happened to a friend of mine travelling to Gatwick, left case on luggage rack checked a couple of stops later. It had gone. Luckily just clothes in it

@sandrasmith2465 exactly, a warning that everyone should carry such items on their persons. I travelled a lot for work 10yrs ago, never had a problem luckily
We didn't visit UK this year on our European vacation just for this reason. Not safe.
