Lyrics:
But I was young and didn't understand
But now I'm a grownup man
I know girls are made for kissing
Never knew what I was missing
Now my life is not the same
My whole world has been rearranged
I went from (Cowboys to girls)
Oh, yes, I did (Shoot 'em up, bang, bang)
(Cowboys to girls)

Me too. I'm 67 and used to go to the hamburger joint across from the high school in south Texas where I grew up and for a nickel you could hear this song over and over on the old Whirlitzer. Great burgers and fine music. No wonder I never had indigestion as a kid. Ha!

The Intruders were the most underrated group in USA during their peak years. They had only one top ten hit but every record they recorded deserved to be a top ten hit.
I agree with you on that!
I agree... we honor ..just by listening...peace.
Yes
They were underated. Those of us who knew savored every song they sung. No body like them now.❤❤❤

me too,at 58yrs,still sound good soft on the ears, making sense
The greatest music ever
The Intruders were one of the finest Philly soul groups that ever came along in the mid-1960s. They really paved the way for others to come such as Harold Melvin and the Blue Notes, Three Degrees, Blue Magic and so much more.
And the Delfonics!! ✊🏾✊🏿
The O'Jays and Archie Bell & The Drells from Philly
@@michaelnixjr.familymembers9188 Archie Bell is from Houston Texas! They say it on "Tighten Up". The group recorded on Atlantic and Philly International Records.

“I went from cowboys to girls, oh yes I did and you went from baby dolls to boys.” 2:17
Then 15 I didn't get the lyrics totally right, so in my ear I always have it: "paperdolls to boys"
Got to #1 on the R&B charts...and #6 on the "Hot 100" charts when this was released in 1968.... CLASSIC!
As a kid my parents would listen to this song over and over. Now that I am an adult, I found myself doing the same.this is a beautiful song

NOTHING LIKE OLD SCHOOL GEM, THANKS
I REMEMBER THOSE GOOD DAYS WHEN EVERYBODY WAS HAPPY AND HAVING A GREAT TIME! THIS REAL OLD SCHOOL SOUL MUSIC! STILL LISTENING IN 2020!
They radio just kept pumping all those great songs out, and we couldn't get to the record shop fast enough. It took five people to man the turntable at the family parties, there were so many.
ME TOO!!
Amen!
Tanya everybody WAS NOT HAPPY & having a good time in that era. It sounds good but that was not what it was like for some people in that era maybe some were happy but not

you ain't lying!
My bro is c/o '68(manual arts hs L.A.). Enlisted right afterwards. His furlough back to the hood would fill the porch with his buddies and music. I was just a tike back then, but damn how these jams take me back.. damn, now i gotta hit "repeat"... woooop
This jam never gets old. it just takes me back to my High School days. still listening 2020.
Update I'm back 2024.
Same here in 2022
Same here in 2023!
Cool! I'm here because Daryl Hall (in a 1985 interview) stated that The Intruders was his favorite group!
Hall always stated he loved vocal groups with strong harmonies and the Intruders fit that bill.
In Luv All Over Again, Me n My Woman... Wit This Funkyness... !! Gracias Pa.. 🙏🏽💯
This is a timeless classic bit of music right up there with 'My Girl' and 'My Guy' in the age of innocents before Chicago became a fatherless war zone. I'm a 72 year-old white guy and wish I could turn back the hands of time (did you get that?) and blow out some speakers. Remember WVON soul radio? I'll always love my Momma.
Martin Luther King was probably cruisin to this right along with everyone else when it first came out.
my whole world has been rearranged! my life isn't the same.
1968 time machine memories
Nice to see the older generation reminiscing about this beautiful song. Bless to be 18 and listening to this
It really is I wasn’t expecting to see that here, it’s very wholesome.

Brings back bittersweet memories of my childhood back in the 60s. Had a crush on a girl when I was still in elementary school. She lived just around the corner from me. I'm 65 now, but I still remember you, Susan.

When oldies re-hit around 77-78 in my old neighborhood the Mission in SF. All my friends started to listen to oldies and tried to figure out who sang each song. I used to get like $5. a day allowance and had more money over my friends from the neighborhood. So I would go record shopping and try to find all these oldies and after make takes for my friends so they could play them on their boombox.
Those were magical time to grow up in and so exciting. My coming of age times!
This song and I'll always love my Momma were two of their best songs!
My favorite record of all time. (RIP Renee)
I was going on 5 in 1968. This is music we grew up on. Real soul music.
I was 15 when this jam came out! Love the intruders!💕
