Me too. I'm 67 and used to go to the hamburger joint across from the high school in south Texas where I grew up and for a nickel you could hear this song over and over on the old Whirlitzer. Great burgers and fine music. No wonder I never had indigestion as a kid. Ha!
Me almost 70 and I still love this jam takes me back not only to my youth, but just a better way of life, not like today so much horrible disgusting chaos of all kind.
The Intruders were the most underrated group in USA during their peak years. They had only one top ten hit but every record they recorded deserved to be a top ten hit.
The Intruders were one of the finest Philly soul groups that ever came along in the mid-1960s. They really paved the way for others to come such as Harold Melvin and the Blue Notes, Three Degrees, Blue Magic and so much more.

They radio just kept pumping all those great songs out, and we couldn't get to the record shop fast enough. It took five people to man the turntable at the family parties, there were so many.

This is a timeless classic bit of music right up there with 'My Girl' and 'My Guy' in the age of innocents before Chicago became a fatherless war zone. I'm a 72 year-old white guy and wish I could turn back the hands of time (did you get that?) and blow out some speakers. Remember WVON soul radio? I'll always love my Momma.
When oldies re-hit around 77-78 in my old neighborhood the Mission in SF. All my friends started to listen to oldies and tried to figure out who sang each song. I used to get like $5. a day allowance and had more money over my friends from the neighborhood. So I would go record shopping and try to find all these oldies and after make takes for my friends so they could play them on their boombox. Those were magical time to grow up in and so exciting. My coming of age times!
