    Fantastic setup.. I like the way the floor is waterproof for complete peace of mind (just in case).
    Very good compact organising too.. 👍

    Great job the van. The hose reel looks fantastic and thanks for the shout out. I like the look of the fibre glass liner. I’ve got mine protecta coated. I use fan jets and love them though not everyone likes them but I think they are worth giving a try for what they cost even if you don’t like them they are easy enough to change back

      Cheers Dave, really appreciate that. Will definitely give the fan jets a go. I used protectacoat in my last van but found it didn't do a great job and pealed off. Fibreglass is much more durable and wasn't too difficult to apply. 👍🏼

      Cheers matey, I've redone the Van since to a 2 man setup with hot water. Tried fan jets but they were Gardiner fan jets absolute rubbish so went back to pencil jets.

    Hi Tim, nice setup.. Tucker hybrid 12 inch 4 pencil best brush on the market I run hot water up to 75 degrees no problem at all, I have xline , Gardiner, ionic, Viking brush.. the Tucker wins hands down, the inner boar hair gives that extra scrubbing, and the 4 pencils over the 12 inch brush gives fantastic rinsing, it's better than the 18 inch brush, especially on higher windows 4 to 5 stories high, especially when it's windy less fatigue and more responsive on the glass.. 👍

      Cheers matey, been window cleaning for 37 years, been wfp for perhaps 15 years, not always easy switching over it's a case of educating your customers. It actually helped that a few insurance companies refused to cover me for working with ladders. You've got to highlight the advantages of wfp... insurance, safety, better quality and being able to reach windows you can't get to by ladders ie. over conservatories.
      Hope the transition goes well, you won't regret it.

    Looking at DIY kits there about £700-£1000 and genie are doing one for £1300. I've brought a Gardiner back pack and di vessel with Gardiner poles and brushes but need a ro system as my water is 150ppm. It's just having the time to do myself as I already have a gardening business wished you was at hand👍

    • @timhancock5556
      @timhancock5556  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sorry Russell didn't spot this message. 150ppm is not a high reading, that's around the same as here and mid Wales is a soft water area. All i can tell you is what works for me, it's all trial and error. I produce pure water in the garage using rainwater D.I. only then fill the tank in the van. A sack of resin lasts me 2 years. My mate fills the tank in the van with tap water and has his D.I. vessel between the tank and pump. A sack of resin lasts him 9 to 10 months.

      @@timhancock5556 thanks so much for your reply back, I was talking to Gardiner today and they told me they wouldn't recommend rain water on customer windows. How do you get all the rain water in those 1000ltr containers, sorry if I seem a bit thick .

    • @timhancock5556
      @timhancock5556  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@russelldownesdownes5618 Not without dionising it first, no one in their right mind would put rainwater straight onto windows. Did Gardiner tell you why they wouldn't recommend rain water? Once the water is deionised, whether it's tap water or rain water and it's reading 000 it works. I've been using rainwater for the last 15 years without a problem. But there again any company that wants to sell you something won't recommend a way to do it cheaper.
      Good choice with the Gardiner poles and backpack by the way.
      I divert the downpipe into the tanks using a simple homemade filter to catch any dirt.

    Those red round taps from my experience are time bombs.. just a question of time before they start leaking.. The ones i bought anyway.

    • @timhancock5556
      @timhancock5556  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      A lever tap would be much better, I agree. But these are all our local hardware store had at the time and needs must when you want to get your system up and running. Still they've lasted a good couple of years so far without any trouble and I've moved them from that tank to a bigger one.

    Hi Tim
    Ive never used pencil jets as im a fan jet man and ive never felt the need to change. Pencil jets dont look like they cover as wide of an area.
    Tidy cheap setup. Where did u get the two way tap from on your tank - is it pump powered?

    • @timhancock5556
      @timhancock5556  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Cheers Double T, I picked up the parts for the double tap from my local hardware store. I didn't want to start drilling extra holes in the tank. The hose for filling barrels is purely gravity fed, no pump. It fills the backpack or a barrel quite quickly.

    • @timinator83
      @timinator83 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@timhancock5556 i try to use my backpack as little as possible, but as we window cleaners know, sometimes theres no dodging it! i was going to have a pump installed inside but if it fills up quick enough gravity fed then may seem a better option (?)

      @timhancock5556  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@timinator83 I've started using the backpack instead of the trolley. smaller and easy to carry to the odd job I can't park near enough. It's handy being able to fill a small amount of water from the big tank.

      Hi Russell
      Did the whole fit out myself, it's far cheaper to source the individual parts yourself. It's not difficult to fit a van out and anything your not sure about there's always a TH-cam video. The only thing I got help with was wiring the split relay charger, a mate helped me with that job.

      Hi mate they quoted me the same I've been using just the di vessel at the mo as I'm slowly building up customers as I run a gardening and decorating business. Think your set up is smart and tidy are you thinking on a ro system then cheers Russell

    @russelldownesdownes5618 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Is your system a budget one, how much did you pay Tim with ro/di system

    • @timhancock5556
      @timhancock5556  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Russell
      It all depends on what you want tank size etc. don't forget to take into account the payload of your van , your roughly 800ish kg. So don't overload it. I reckon the van fit out ... tank, electric hose reel, fibreglassing, pump, controller, various bits... wire, pipes to hold the poles was just under £1000.
      I use D.I. only because I deionise rain water. if you have the room for 1000 ltr tanks ( you can pick them up cheap, second hand) it's well worth it. A sack of resin lasts me 2 years . Shopping around on the internet will save you a fortune.
      Hope this is helpful

    • @timhancock5556
      @timhancock5556  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@russelldownesdownes5618 First question... Do you live in a hard water area, is the tds reading high? If not you don't need R.O.
      Everyone in my area just use D.I.
      If you're harvesting rain water the tds reading is low. The rain water here reads anywhere between 001 and 010. I've got 4 1000ltr tanks in the garage I've never run dry.
