Okay, my thoughts on this. First off, I envy your ability to go so long in a single take. I have to read a script, and then usually have to retry most of my lines because I just fail at talking. Second, OMG Wave Race 64, yes. I love that game so much. I also got it for Christmas, and I had zero interest in it. But I played it because my family got it for me and I wanted to be nice, but it was so fun that I am glad my family did get it for me. Finally, gonna mention a game that you didn't mention - Tetrisphere. Easily my favorite Tetris game. Take a ball of tetrads, try to reveal the core, and there you go, that's Tetrisphere. And it was awesome because it had some cool techno music and power-ups, and you had different modes including puzzle mode and vs. mode. Loved that game. And I'm not usually a fan of puzzle games, either.
Just so you know, if it exceeds 21 games, then its probably going to cost more than $80. I'm pretty sure that they would come out with the GameBoy classic first (hopefully) just to give them more time to get the N64 ready with better software. Now, as for the list, here are (from my point of view) games that have the best possibility to get onto the N64. They not only have to be popular, but also needed to sell well, and be relevant even by todays standards. So, that means that if its never been mentioned before until this list, there's not a great possibility. Doom 64 was great. My only complaint about it was that the hud didn’t have that animated face of your character in good health or a complete mess covered in blood

We somehow managed to get an NES by sheer dumb luck of them having 2 out in the video game case. Apparently they're re-releasing the NES Classic? I've heard that from a few different people but I don't know if it's legit or not.
Imagine a Pokemon Snap arcade game. It's possible, just get SEGA Japan/ Bandai Namco Japan to do it and release it to the west. I'm pretty sure a LOT of arcades will get it if it's executed well...
The controls in Turok confused me sooo much as a kid but once I perfected it I felt like a badass when ever my friends and I popped it in since they sucked haha
The funniest part is that the team that ported RE2 only took a few months to do it and they said if they had a few more months, they could have improved their compression algorithm enough that the cutscenes would have been identical to the PS1 version.

I want more people to be able to experience the wonders of the N64 that didn't get the chance to Shadows of the Empire, Banjo Kazooie, 007, Shadow Man, Pokemon snap, Rush, 1080 snowboarding, Pokemon stadium 1 & 2. The kids born in the '00's NEED these games in their lives ;D . Man those wrastlin' games creating the character was sometimes better than the game, except for the insane glitches. Also these games need the ability to put in the debug codes and such, not the gameshark just the in game codes.

I have so much fond memories with playing that shit with my 2 older brothers and at sleepovers when my cousin would sleep over, we would have so many fun hours of 4 player action and just having a fun old time. Also Paper Mario is a must have. I can't even tell you how many times I have played and beaten it. I replay it once every year because of how much I love it. It's like renewing your wedding vows. What sucks though if Goldeneye would be on this then Perfect Dark can't be because of how similar yet different they are. Both are great games though and so much fun if you have brothers to play it with.
Only downside to this is...... i dont see nintendo packing 4 controllers in the box. Probably 2 and will sell n 64 controllers on the side to maximize profit and cut cost on shipping the n64 classic.......... but hey maybe I'll be wrong!

Paper mario!!! I remember being dropped off at school one winter day i was 9, and turned out school was canceled for snow. The few faculty that was there couldn't get a hold of my parents so one the teachers took me cross country skiing on some nearby trails while the principle figured out what to do with me, they got a hold my older brother (14yrs older than me). He came picked me up and said he had a surprise for me at home......got home and heard not only was school cancelled all week, my brother bought me paper mario! Spent a whole weeks worth of snow days and late nights playing it with him! Was soooo amazing and I fondly love it haha
The N64 had a hard time with good third parties, so I feel most of the ones they will do are gonna be their own published/developed ones for N64. I think the only genuine good ones from non Nintendo developer/publisher were the Turok games, Shadow Man, Bomberman 64, Mystical Ninja, Resident Evil 2, Rayman 2, Ridge Racer 64, Gex games and Doom 64. I am sure there are others though. I don't refer to licenses like 007 because that's gonna be very hard to get. In terms of Rare Ltd, which I know people will always want, it's driving a hard bargain with Microsoft. They could get away with Diddy Kong Racing with negotiation and Donkey Kong 64 as both of these are trademarked MORE with Nintendo in my eyes. Microsoft could cut a little slack with these two.
Great vidoe Alpha. This brought so much nostalgia thinking about these games. The N64 was the first console I bought on my own and I remember playing so many of these games and loving them.
The issue with the N64 is that a lot of the good games on there can be played with up to four players. So Nintendo can do four things to facilitate this: - Include 4 controllers. The most expensive option out of the gate. - Limit it to 2 controllers, which will really hurt it. - Make the plugs on the console 100% compatible with actual N64 controllers. This allows them to bundle only 2 controllers and let people use their own, but this favors those who have been playing since the N64 era and those with money to buy the controlers on the aftermarket. - Bundle 2 controllers, and sell additional controllers seperately. If Nintendo is smart (and it's often not) they'll add a converter in there so you can use your N64 controller for certain Switch games, or maybe even the 3DS. The ballsiest and most difficult option.
Beriorn 2 controlers only would suck. Nintendo 64 was all about 4 way multiplayer. Can you imagine Mario Kart 64 without 4 player support? Mario Kart 64 without 4 player support,,is NOT Mario Kart 64. Now if they could ad Grand Prix for more than 2 players...

It's one of the few games for the N64 that emulates poorly, Especially for the Nvidia Shield Portable (my favourite portable device for emulation). I already have a copy of it on ps1. The Playstation store in South Africa does not offer it either. Also the N64 version of the game had some of it's own features, and I just want to get hold of it because I like collecting Resident Evil stuff.
The Nintendo 64 Mini would be the least appealing to be honest, because it would be missing so much due to licensing and the general lack of third-part support on that system when compared to the NES and SNES. They are pretty much limited to their first-party titles which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but there were a several great third-party games (from what little there was) that defined that system.
For me the problem with an N64 classic is exactly the opposite. Aside from your standard Mario, Zelda, Star Fox, Smash Bros, and other obvious picks; there's not much else. The good ones are: any game made by Rare, Shadows of the Empire, Perfect Dark, Turok, and there's plenty of others. Some games I can see making it, but the stuff that matters AKA the Rare games, I'll be surprised if a single one (Diddy Kong Racing being an exception) makes the list considering thar Microsoft owns the franchises. Kinda a problem with me I guess.

bigevilworldwide1 Nintendo and Microsoft worked together or something concerning Minecraft. Why not Killer Instinct as well? It's not like we are talking about XO Killer Instincts bringing to Switch or something.
If Disney would allow the Star Wars games to be on it, Rogue Squadron will never be included unless Nintendo can make it work. The reason is that the game has serious emulation problems that makes it unplayable due to Factor 5 pushing the N64's limits by rewriting the N64's microcode. Their other games; Battle for Naboo and Indiana Jones and the Infernal Machine(which I would love to see) has the same issues too.
Still waiting for one of these to come out. Those little machines were so cool, and a great, cheap way for newer gamers to play these incredible games. Sure, there are some heavy hitters that are missing for one reason or another on them, and there's the Virtual Console and stuff, but still, I love those things. Was definitely a fun and interesting couple of years in gaming when these systems were everywhere. I know it'll probably never happen now that that 2 year fad has long passed.
Oh and your mention of the N64 DD reminded me that Nintendo should go ahead and give the Ura Zelda expansion pack the Starfox 2 treatment. I know most of it's assets went to stuff like Majora's Mask and even Wind Waker/Twilight Princess. But I would seriously love to see what that project could have been at least.
I waited 8 hours outside of GameStop to get an snes classic on launch day because I didn’t get a preorder. I was one of the lucky few. Now to do the same whenever the n64 classic comes out because that was my favorite system of all time.

I wouldn't want genres clogging it up, but my list would be mostly racing games, as that is what I had and played on my N64. Vigilante 8, V8 2nd Offense, Cruis'n USA/World/Exotica, Diddy Kong Racing, Demolition Derby 64, Destruction Derby, RUSH/2, Ridge Racer 64, Top Gear Overdrive/Rally, Lego Racers, Hot Wheels Turbo Racing, California Speed, Off Road Challenge, Penny Racers, Micro Machines 64, Re-Volt, even the Star Wars racing game... I'd be hyped if at least 3 of those games made it to the N64 classic, if/when it gets made.
Schmidteren Perfect Dark suffered from being dated as soon as it was released. It was an improvement on GoldenEye for sure, but it wasn't an improvement on the likes of Half-Life. GoldenEye set the bar, but Perfect Dark missed the memo that it had been raised a lot higher in the meantime.
Because Nintendo knows that nobody is gonna be able to get their hands on these plug and play clones and they don't bother to stock them correctly, meanwhile they have the roms of these games that can be dropped on a virtual console in like 10 seconds flat and are cheaper.
I hate the Switch but it would make more sense to stop making plug and play shit such as the SNES mini NES mini and talks of N64 mini. It's stupid, they don't even play all the games becuase their cart slots are just there for looks. Mean while a real NES SNES and N64 has the correct hardware to play carts. I own SNES and N64, I'll stick to the real consoles over Nintendo's plug and play shit of them.

That's a really good list, can't say there would be much more I'd want to add. I hope we see both Mega Man 64 and Resident Evil 2 on there. There's really no excuse to not include them sense Capcom only had 3 games on the N64.
Ahh Mario 64 the first video game I ever played and it was my sisters I used to have to wait till she went to a friends house to play it then pray to god that I put the control back in the same position she left it.

The funniest part is that the team that ported RE2 only took a few months to do it and they said if they had a few more months, they could have improved their compression algorithm enough that the cutscenes would have been identical to the PS1 version.

I want more people to be able to experience the wonders of the N64 that didn't get the chance to Shadows of the Empire, Banjo Kazooie, 007, Shadow Man, Pokemon snap, Rush, 1080 snowboarding, Pokemon stadium 1 & 2. The kids born in the '00's NEED these games in their lives ;D . Man those wrastlin' games creating the character was sometimes better than the game, except for the insane glitches. Also these games need the ability to put in the debug codes and such, not the gameshark just the in game codes.

I have so much fond memories with playing that shit with my 2 older brothers and at sleepovers when my cousin would sleep over, we would have so many fun hours of 4 player action and just having a fun old time. Also Paper Mario is a must have. I can't even tell you how many times I have played and beaten it. I replay it once every year because of how much I love it. It's like renewing your wedding vows. What sucks though if Goldeneye would be on this then Perfect Dark can't be because of how similar yet different they are. Both are great games though and so much fun if you have brothers to play it with.
Only downside to this is...... i dont see nintendo packing 4 controllers in the box. Probably 2 and will sell n 64 controllers on the side to maximize profit and cut cost on shipping the n64 classic.......... but hey maybe I'll be wrong!

Paper mario!!! I remember being dropped off at school one winter day i was 9, and turned out school was canceled for snow. The few faculty that was there couldn't get a hold of my parents so one the teachers took me cross country skiing on some nearby trails while the principle figured out what to do with me, they got a hold my older brother (14yrs older than me). He came picked me up and said he had a surprise for me at home......got home and heard not only was school cancelled all week, my brother bought me paper mario! Spent a whole weeks worth of snow days and late nights playing it with him! Was soooo amazing and I fondly love it haha

The N64 had a hard time with good third parties, so I feel most of the ones they will do are gonna be their own published/developed ones for N64. I think the only genuine good ones from non Nintendo developer/publisher were the Turok games, Shadow Man, Bomberman 64, Mystical Ninja, Resident Evil 2, Rayman 2, Ridge Racer 64, Gex games and Doom 64. I am sure there are others though. I don't refer to licenses like 007 because that's gonna be very hard to get. In terms of Rare Ltd, which I know people will always want, it's driving a hard bargain with Microsoft. They could get away with Diddy Kong Racing with negotiation and Donkey Kong 64 as both of these are trademarked MORE with Nintendo in my eyes. Microsoft could cut a little slack with these two.
Great vidoe Alpha. This brought so much nostalgia thinking about these games. The N64 was the first console I bought on my own and I remember playing so many of these games and loving them.
The issue with the N64 is that a lot of the good games on there can be played with up to four players. So Nintendo can do four things to facilitate this:
- Include 4 controllers. The most expensive option out of the gate.
- Limit it to 2 controllers, which will really hurt it.
- Make the plugs on the console 100% compatible with actual N64 controllers. This allows them to bundle only 2 controllers and let people use their own, but this favors those who have been playing since the N64 era and those with money to buy the controlers on the aftermarket.
- Bundle 2 controllers, and sell additional controllers seperately. If Nintendo is smart (and it's often not) they'll add a converter in there so you can use your N64 controller for certain Switch games, or maybe even the 3DS. The ballsiest and most difficult option.

Hey man, great video. Just wanted to say thanks for representing Harvest Moon. Loved those games growing up and everyone acted like I had 3 heads for playing them. Of course then everyone started playing Farmville on Facebook and suddenly farming sims are cool.

It's one of the few games for the N64 that emulates poorly, Especially for the Nvidia Shield Portable (my favourite portable device for emulation). I already have a copy of it on ps1. The Playstation store in South Africa does not offer it either. Also the N64 version of the game had some of it's own features, and I just want to get hold of it because I like collecting Resident Evil stuff.
In South Africa the cheapest price I can find it is R2800 (so around $205).

The Nintendo 64 Mini would be the least appealing to be honest, because it would be missing so much due to licensing and the general lack of third-part support on that system when compared to the NES and SNES. They are pretty much limited to their first-party titles which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but there were a several great third-party games (from what little there was) that defined that system.
For me the problem with an N64 classic is exactly the opposite. Aside from your standard Mario, Zelda, Star Fox, Smash Bros, and other obvious picks; there's not much else. The good ones are: any game made by Rare, Shadows of the Empire, Perfect Dark, Turok, and there's plenty of others. Some games I can see making it, but the stuff that matters AKA the Rare games, I'll be surprised if a single one (Diddy Kong Racing being an exception) makes the list considering thar Microsoft owns the franchises. Kinda a problem with me I guess.

If Disney would allow the Star Wars games to be on it, Rogue Squadron will never be included unless Nintendo can make it work. The reason is that the game has serious emulation problems that makes it unplayable due to Factor 5 pushing the N64's limits by rewriting the N64's microcode. Their other games; Battle for Naboo and Indiana Jones and the Infernal Machine(which I would love to see) has the same issues too.
Still waiting for one of these to come out. Those little machines were so cool, and a great, cheap way for newer gamers to play these incredible games. Sure, there are some heavy hitters that are missing for one reason or another on them, and there's the Virtual Console and stuff, but still, I love those things. Was definitely a fun and interesting couple of years in gaming when these systems were everywhere. I know it'll probably never happen now that that 2 year fad has long passed.

Oh and your mention of the N64 DD reminded me that Nintendo should go ahead and give the Ura Zelda expansion pack the Starfox 2 treatment. I know most of it's assets went to stuff like Majora's Mask and even Wind Waker/Twilight Princess. But I would seriously love to see what that project could have been at least.

Schmidteren Perfect Dark suffered from being dated as soon as it was released. It was an improvement on GoldenEye for sure, but it wasn't an improvement on the likes of Half-Life. GoldenEye set the bar, but Perfect Dark missed the memo that it had been raised a lot higher in the meantime.

Because Nintendo knows that nobody is gonna be able to get their hands on these plug and play clones and they don't bother to stock them correctly, meanwhile they have the roms of these games that can be dropped on a virtual console in like 10 seconds flat and are cheaper.

I hate the Switch but it would make more sense to stop making plug and play shit such as the SNES mini NES mini and talks of N64 mini. It's stupid, they don't even play all the games becuase their cart slots are just there for looks. Mean while a real NES SNES and N64 has the correct hardware to play carts. I own SNES and N64, I'll stick to the real consoles over Nintendo's plug and play shit of them.
I really want to get a room full of games like you ..... And more than a few consoles that I have.... NES , psx, ps3 slim , ps4 pro, x360 slim , ps vita .... Are not enough. I might consider getting Gamecube , N64, Dreamcast and PS2...

I'm sure it's Nostalgia speaking but I would definitely put Mace the Dark Age in there, if you've never played it find an emulator, its way fun and holds its own for a fighting game especially for the N64!
