    SHO jobs particularly in surgical fields like orthopaedics are the worst- continuous bleeps during calls, not allowing to concentrate on the work.if it is a large hospital-you had it-you have to run from one ward to another in every corner of the hospital,making on calls a nightmare.And the worst part it -you learn nothing in your surgical field after all the hard work as an SHO.

    Hello! First of all i like your videos thank you so much for making them . I am an 1st year mbbs student and i am looking forward to work and study in uk after my internship. So is there any chance that after 4 to 5 years the rules and selection process will be changed for IMG's or more IMGs migrating to uk or something like that?

      IMG numbers have increased significantly over last 2yrs. Also the UK graduate numbers will go up within next few years as they have increased their seats massively. Only time will tell what happens

      It won't limit your chances of getting a job.passing both these exams will only waste your time and money.only one of them will suffice, preferably MRCP.

      Yes, that's definitely a plus point.work place politics in general is not an issue unless you want to become medical director or CEO

      Quality of training and lifestyle is variable depending on specialty. I don't have any idea about US training. I don't think any IMG have realistic chance to become an ophthalmologist in the UK or US so choice does not matter.

    Is it worth to move or better to stay in India??
    Becoz in India, so many issues as working a doctor. Might be you also know about these issues.
    But i dont want to live in UK for whole life
    I want to work just for 4,5 years and then planning to move UAE

      Research is not mandatory for good jobs. However if someone applies for the same job with some publications, then they will be given preferances.Unless you are looking for surgery career then research is not really needed.

      You should join any govt/private hospital/nursing home so that they can provide you with a reference letter. You need 12 months experience before applying for GMC/MTI.

    Hi..wonderful video..I have done my DLO and MS in ENT ,with a Fellowship in Neurotology (Audiovestibular medicine)from India .Now ,Giving MRCS ENT exam soon ..After completion can we join short term SHO jobs for 4 to 6 weeks or so..
    Moreover,can you provide some light how to join AVM medicine in uk after Mrcs ENT

      You can get ENT jobs after MRCS. However AVM is a medical specialty in the UK (post MRCP) and available in very few centres. If you really want specialised short term experience then you can approach the centres directly for short term attachments (unpaid).Best to try this after MRCS and settling down in UK.

    I've heard that during training as a junior doctor in UK, you have to move house every year as you get assigned a different hospital every year. Is it true. Can you make a video on how a doctor with a family manages to move houses so quickly? What affect does that have on their health and personal life?

      We rotate in different hospitals every 6-12 months- that's correct. However I never changed my house throughout the duration of training. I doubt anyone moves their house with every rotation.

    Nice video doc. We're moving to Australia in a month, my wife is a specialist physician from India and we were lucky to receive an opportunity where the hospital was willing to sponsor an offshore candidate.
    Why are you not moving to Australia? Many Indian doctors move to Australia (or UAE) after coming to the UK.

      @@SumanPaulDoc it takes 1 year from the time you start preparing paper work and getting the assessment by the respective medical college in Australia. You may want to start the process while you're in the final year of getting your CCT ie if you plan to move to Australia
