      I feel fortunate, I was able to get the book last January. I don’t think June can help with stocking the book. That would be the responsibility of Jacob’s management team.

    They both are so gifted that they don't have to spell out the music notes, Jacob just plays the chord for the vibe and June picks up on it and adds it

      @kms_domo 3 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      Those skills are usually learned from music school! Ear training is really tough and seeing how they effortlessly do this shows how much time and thought they put into developing that skill.

    • @james_subosits
      @james_subosits 3 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      They both have perfect pitch which helps with how quickly they pick up on it

    • @apollog7764
      @apollog7764 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      yes yes. Not many musicians can here a chord and know what it is ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

  • @james.randorff
    @james.randorff 3 ปีที่แล้ว +48

    When I begin to feel overconfident of my musical ear and skills, I always know I can just listen to a conversation between June and Jacob to quickly humble myself.
    Thank you for sharing this with us!

    Thank you for sharing some of the process behind the arrangements! Jacob is very lucky to have someone who gives so much attention to his music. I (as a lot of people here on youtube, I think) wouldn't listen to his music in the same way if it was not for your transcriptions, interviews, analysis, and most recently the arrangements! Already waiting for the next part

    I think it’s cool how Jacob is complementing June on the voicings because I doubt Jacob new exactly what he was doing, I think he might’ve just wrote what he heard in his head and this is the first time he’s seeing what it actually is

    • @UkuleleAversion
      @UkuleleAversion 3 ปีที่แล้ว +31

      Absolutely. Reminds me of that old story of John Coltrane receiving a transcription from a fan in Japan and he said, "Sorry, there's no way I can play this" then the fan told him it was a transcription of him.

    • @dragorn3212

      The amazing thing is Jacob seems to know what every single chord is in all of his songs from memory.

    I love this. It’s like being a fly on the wall for a natural interaction between colleagues. Different from Jacob’s Logic sessions which have a performance aspect (still love them!!!)

    Cette chanson est juste incroyable, elle est d'une infinie douceur et cette harmonie complètement parachutée y passe comme une lettre à la poste. Je pense que c'est ma préférée.

    This is quite literally theraputic to listen to, hearing jacob and you give crunchy and very _very_ smooth voices back and forth is so calming, especially for a song like once you

    Thanks so much for sharing this. It's amazing how simply the two of you work together. It's wonderful to listen to this harmonic and musical conversations, having two points of view on a same piece, finding the truth in the arrangement's needs.
    Can't wait for the next part. This song book never leaves my piano (even though it's pretty hard). It's an harmony master piece and a delight to read and play accros.
