The best Saturday morning Cartoon time period was actually in the mid 1960's, with Space Ghost, Jonny Quest, the Herculoids, and the Original Justice League. That time 52 years ago and large bowls Captain Crunch cereal was the best Saturday morning I have ever had.

This cartoon had Fred, Velma, Shaggy, and Scooby Do as children, with each episode almost mocking and making fun of themselves each episode. Funny show, and worth watching. I actually WANT the show to be on the Saturday morning cartoon on MeTV, as Scooby Do has value to a younger audience.

That scene had me crackin up because they made fun of every ending of the Super Friends lmao!
What I like, is that for all their "evil", the legion of doom members seem content with sharing the conquest and they always rescue the entire legion. I guess leaving the others to take the rap is one evil deed to far! LOL

In later seasons, DARKSEID and his cronies would escape via Boom Tube while Lex Luthor and the Legion of Doom would be captured. DARKSEID would routinely throw Lex Luthor and the Legion of Doom under the bus.
Despite the silly plots, predictable dialogue and outcomes to each episode, the Challenge of the Superfriends show from 1978 had exceptional Voice Acting and Actors such as Michael Bell, Danny Dark, Stan Jones, and Ted Cassidy. These were some of the best Voice Over Actors in the history of Television, and they had no equals then nor today. Danny Dark is still the best Superman voice ever. No one has ever come close to matching his incredible voice. The same goes for Stan Jones who voiced Lex Luthor.

Rye had a fantastic voice, and was PERFECT for Cartoon work. He did dozens of cartoons during that 20 year period, playing not just Hal Jordan/Green Lantern to the mid 1980's, but other voices in other cartoons as well for Disney, Hanna Barbera, Warner Brothers, etc. He also did a voice in the Dragon's Lair video game in the early 80's too.

Apache chief will run an illegal pay day loan scam from his local reservation. Aquaman will be that guy dressed as a restaurant mascot animal that waves at you from the side of the road. Don't you see...they have to let them go.
Being in The Legion of Doom sounds great, right? After all, you do what you want, nobody gives you a hard time, and the Super Friends can never catch you. Superman made every hero look useless in this show. Batman, Robin, Aquaman and El Derado were especially useless. Batman’s only saving grace was that he could think, unlike mostly everyone else.
Yes, I watched Challenge of the Superfriends back in '78---viewers were starved for super-heroic adventures produced 11 years earlier by Hanna-Barbera's Space Ghost, Mightor, Young Samson, Herculoids, Birdman, Galaxy Trio, Shazzan---you know, when the good guys actually fought and blasted away at the bad guys. This version of the Justice League was the best HB could do what with the 'violence code' in effect. Thank goodness for Bruce Timm's Justice League---we just had to wait 23 more years, though. LOL. At 0:55, Gorilla Grodd sure has big feet.

I have a lot of those early Hanna Barbara's heroes from the 60s and I want to add Filmation as well, good artwork,but with the no violence code and comic relief it made good toon suck even more Gleek , wonder twins pink dragons and Orako from he man. Adventure toons should be exactly what it should be Adventure toons. No comic relief.
Too bad the Action for Children's Television forced the change of Saturday Morning Cartoons to teach more instead of enjoying the Action Adventure toons from Hanna-Barbara and Filmation.

It's job security. If they apprehend them, they'll have to lock them up and then what will they do? They'll have to get real jobs (unless Batman gives them all UBI). Flash will end up in fast food delivery and Wonder Woman will inevitably turn tricks. Samurai will be deported because his green card requires him to work. Apache chief will run an illegal pay day loan scam from his local reservation. Aquaman will be that guy dressed as a restaurant mascot animal that waves at you from the side of the road. Don't you see...they have to let them go.
Maybe if the Superfriends didn't boast that they've won, they could stop the Legion of Doom once and for all.
Being in The Legion of Doom sounds great, right? After all, you do what you want, nobody gives you a hard time, and the Super Friends can never catch you. But just think of the enormous pressure they're under to come up with a new sinister plan, week after week, to take over the world.

Superman made every hero look useless in this show. Batman, Robin, Aquaman and El Derado were especially useless. Batman’s only saving grace was that he could think, unlike mostly everyone else.

Yes, I watched Challenge of the Superfriends back in '78---viewers were starved for super-heroic adventures produced 11 years earlier by Hanna-Barbera's Space Ghost, Mightor, Young Samson, Herculoids, Birdman, Galaxy Trio, Shazzan---you know, when the good guys actually fought and blasted away at the bad guys. This version of the Justice League was the best HB could do what with the 'violence code' in effect.
Thank goodness for Bruce Timm's Justice League---we just had to wait 23 more years, though. LOL.

I have a lot of those early Hanna Barbara's heroes from the 60s and I want to add Filmation as well, good artwork,but with the no violence code and comic relief it made good toon suck even more

Too bad the Action for Children's Television forced the change of Saturday Morning Cartoons to teach more instead of enjoying the Action Adventure toons from Hanna-Barbara and Filmation.
@@chake46 and they poisoned it even more when the brought back Space Ghost and the Herculoids in the 80s they flat out killed Hanna Barbara's Action Cartoons, even with the new addition they added the Teen Force, could have done better.thats whybi love watching Anime, they don't pull punches when it comes to Aventure Cartoons.
@@willieyoung8579 It was like HB & Filmation were handcuffed by these Groups . They tried to recharge showing this version but didn't have the viewing enjoyment. It was years later when the best version of Cartoon Network & Boomerang came to cable TV.

The endings never made sense. Superman was the the fastest man on Earth (yes, I do believe he was faster than Flash) and could circle the entire Earth in a second, yet he was never quick enough to stop the Legion of Doom from putting one of their escape plans into effect, and wasn't fast enough to chase down the moving Hall Of Doom?? It's like he wanted them to get away!
