“Well Chani’s been captured by Sting.” That sentence made me laugh. What a great review. Loved the humor and you really presented the game well. I played the sega genesis version of Dune and Dune 2000 for the ps1 ( I liked the fmv’s in the PS1 version) this seemed like a really interesting game to play back in the day. Anyway great review! 😀
Glad you enjoyed the video! I doubt this game will get a GOG release, but with the new movie coming out, who knows? It's definitely a game worth playing if you're a fan of Dune.
The Duke is dea- I SAID I"M TIRED OF TRAVELLING WITH YOU PAUL!....NOTICE ME!!!! lol "Channi has been captured by Sting" I hate it when that happens! O'neill: Come now! Is this not the face of a victoriously happy man?! 26:34 - ... O'neill: ...Bad example.
Now I kinda want to see that expressionless Paul victory face with a smile pasted on top of it. 🤣 Harah be like, "I'm tired of traveling with you, Paul... What do you mean Chani is traveling with you now?!" Also... Emperor: I want a shipment of spice. Paul: WE'VE DONE THIS! Duncan: We do this every five days...
@@JanelleWazAVGN does a funny video on the 32X. We did not miss much. Sadly the CD did not sell as well as some others, so they are "naturally" more rare in the wild. Plus with collectors and now sellers who buy low and then inflate the prices and "claim" games are rare by holding on to many copies, but only selling one at a time (look up Klonoa: Door to Phantomile which is in no way a rare game that goes for $800 these days) it's no wonder the games for the CD are hard to come buy. Even with the internet, they are just not that plentiful compared to some others. I wish you luck in finding and playing all the ones you want at a fair price. 😊
Played Dune 2000 on the PS1. Basically Command & Conquer with Dune face paint. Also not as good, at least as Red Alert Retaliation was, but still fun. They do have, as I recall, unique Dune abilities for the few Houses. A bit rough in graphics- buildings look nice, vehicles not too bad, but the soldiers are blah.
@@JanelleWaz I know. =) There are usually two camps of people though. "Good games, with crappy FMV." or "Bad games, with good FMV." It's rare to hear someone openly admit there can be "Good games, with good FMV." Although the original Warhawk is one... If you like a lot of "cheese". Krazy Ivan as well, both on PS1. =P And I believe I played Harkonnens. I think they had (more) nukes or something. I am also sure it slowed down less on the PC version or had less of a party/group number restriction. Surprisingly or not, the N64 could only have four (or some other restriction) groups locked in and assembled as I recall due to the four yellow buttons on the controller for StarCraftN64. But each party/group could hold more units than their PC brethren to sort of make up for it.
always wanted to try this one, looked chill & atmospheric. the book's a great read, like a really hip eco-fairy tale. There's things I like about the Lynch film, but he omitted a crucial subplot that perverts the meaning of the story, like in the worst way. Villeneuve kept it in, which I appreciate.
@@JanelleWaz I will be very happy if you add the link to the album on your video description, you can find it on my YT channel, it will be moderated if I paste it here!
Are the travel sequences unique, for each destination, as in A - B, A - D, B - G, etc.? Or is it all the same exact graphics? I know it's all sand and dunes, but are there differences in direction or sprites? Are the travel times longer or shorter, depending on actual distance? Can you quick travel?
The map is the same in each game. I think the travel sequence will change from dunes to rocky terrain if you hit a darker spot in the map, but otherwise, it's pretty much the same. You can quick travel, but it still takes up time.
Thanks! The Remaster is now available for download in 96/24 Hi-res Audio Digital Album! BONUS GAME OST dual soundcards (AdlibGold-RolandMT32) included!
You might find the history of the game interesting. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dune_(video_game) Also it's a shame the Sega CD version did not take advantage of the Sega CD Mouse accessory. They kind of dropped the ball there, although the mouse seemed to only be available in Japan and Europe. Then again with the insane amount of trouble it took them to get the game out, it's understandable.

Never had the 32X (no big loss) or the Sega CD. Sega CD looked fun.
Never had the 32X, but I really love the Sega CD. The games are kinda hard to find now.

Dune 2000! I played that one on PC. I always played as House Atreides. Also, FMV is always appreciated here.

Glad you enjoyed it! I always enjoy when people who worked on video games I review stopping by and leaving comments!

Gurney in this game is a source for nightmares, LOL!
I'm not sure which is worse: the overall scary character design or the fact that he's constantly winking.

Duncan's judgement is the same judgement I get from the Dunkin's cashier when I buy 3 dozen donuts. #fattygottafat 🤷🏾♀️

Dune soundtrack is amazing and does not get the love it deserves
I love Toto's soundtrack to the movie! Is it full of 80s cheese? Yes. Do I care? Absolutely not. It's still awesome!

Have you played Rise of the Dragon on Sega CD?
I think once at a friend's house. I don't think we got very far with it.

It definitely would have been easier to play with a mouse accessory, though the game controls are passable.

My favorite is Jessica's lackluster pronunciation of Maud'dib.
