I am looking at this bike for my 1st purchase. What do you 'not like' about it? I am 5'4 /150lbs. Most of my driving will be urban/suburban. Im not looking for Speed - but I also dont want to get run over, as Maryland drivers typically are a$$hat's while driving. LOL
great bike for someone who wants to have fun on the road but keep it legal at the same time, you get to really use the engine and work the gearbox while keeping it reasonable.
BMW has recently teased a G 310 RR and it’s likely to be unveiled soon. Not sure which markets it will be in but it will basically be a BMW Apache RR 310. So yes, one is most certainly coming. I’ll post pictures in the community section of our channel.
Thanks for creating this video. I purchased my G310R and I’m waiting for it to arrive. I’m getting by watching as many videos on the bike as I can find.
Thanks for your analysis! With a seat height of 785 mm, this bike is very popular in India where the average "altitude" of men is 1m66 & women 1m52. This bike is a real city bike where you stop & go very often & I think being able to put both feet on the groung is appreciated by many. Its sister bike the BMW G310 GS is more offroad oriented & its seat height of 835mm is 5cm higher than the G310R 😄😄😄
Solid review. I'm currently stuck between this and the Duke 390... Everybody seems to say the KTM is more fun, but I've ridden the RC390 and found it too harsh of a commuter's bike. Just need to find a dealership that'll let me test drive this, I'm genuinely intrigued...
I own an rc390 and I think the Duke would be better for a commuter given its more comfortable and upright seating position. I'd take the Duke over the g310r
@@SteveSweetness34 was this a first bike for you? Do you have any other bikes. I am looking to get a bike after not having riden for 20 years. I want to get someting with ABS and fuel injected and since I only have a budget of about 6000 I am looking at small displacement bikes. I am mostly planning to cruise back roads about 50 mph. My last bike was a 1983 Kawasaki GPZ 750.
@@ericheinrich6126 ya the bmw g310r was my first street bike. I ride a triumph trident 660 now…but the g310r would be PERFECT for the type of riding you described and it’s right around 5000$ brand new
I would personally get the BMW because I like naked bikes and the BMW is slightly better equipped. In terms of suspension components etc. However, I am sure the CBR300R is a great beginner bike and Honda makes really solid products. It comes down to what you prefer. If you get the opportunity, try and test ride each. Thanks for the question.
Very good video. Thank you for making it. This would be my first bike if I decide to get one. I'm trying to decide on the proper seat height. I'm 5'7" / inseam of 30". I'm thinking of going with the standard seat of 30.9" and if it does not feel comfortable or right I will buy one of the other seats. Second question/comment: I noticed on this bike there is a windscreen {Puig}. From what I've seen on the BMW Motorrad site, a windscreen is not available. I would want one - just like the one in the video. Any responses and comments would be appreciated!!
Thanks for the comment! In terms of seat height, you should be fine with the standard seat. But please be sure to sit on any bike before purchasing. If you have the ability to ride it, that’s even better. You never know what something feels like until you’ve experienced it yourself. Visit your local dealer and spend time sitting on bikes to see what feels comfortable for you. I believe the windscreen is a Puig Naked New Generation. Not 100% sure though. Thanks again. Best of luck deciding!
For me, no. 60 hp would be about as low as I would go. But for some people 34hp is enough. The chassis on this bike certainly feels like it can handle more power. But it’s still a good little package for people looking for something wayyy more exciting than a scooter/moped.

Perfect first bike. As a small woman who didn't want to jump into something to heavy, this bike has helped me gain a lot of confidence.
Awesome! Thanks for sharing this.

I believe the engine is a TVS and not BMW engine.
Just bought one today, super excited to put some miles on it.
Sweet! Congrats on the new ride.
Nice review - you covered everything necessary, and nothing that wasn't. Appreciate that!
Thanks for the comment! Glad you appreciated it!
Would love if they can make on in 400 or 500cc

Agreed!
I'm still surprised bmw hasn't made a full fairing version.
Especially considering that a tvs version exists.
Hmmm
That's probably the deal they made. TVS makes the full faired version while BMW gets the naked sport and adventure versions.

I wouldn't go KTM, I've heard horrendous things about reliability

Hey I’m looking to buy this bike. But I’m wondering what the service costs look like.

Feels a gap? Clutch pedal? Does anyone review this stuff?

Foreigners are thinking,
" Finally BMW made a motorcycle for beginners "
But only Indian people know the secret reality behind it 😅
