Art is another face of Love, those who still thinking of attacking people are yet suffering from their inner fears, agitations, pride, and greed for power
in a logic way of living we should be empty to overcome our fears and gain peace instead,Aikido invites the opponents to ever lasting peace.

Very well filmed, that's the positive aspect, technically wise it's quite strange that in this video the great master Christian Tissier who has inspired so many people around the globe including myself, sounds confusing, especially everytime he mentions the "reality based approach". Which reality ? that remains to define to better appreciate the meaning and the principles under the techniques.

Hombu is borrowing a lot from the teaching of Saito Sensei...as for the "reality" ...I haven't heard them talking about variations and practical applications...I only see them doing the same stuff over and over again...it's a simplified version of the original teachings...having said that... without real fights or competitions...Aikido cannot evolve...Tomiki Aikido has competition...but it's pretty disappointing...

    • @michele6744
      @michele6744 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

I know this is sarcasm (and a really good one)! but do you really consider aikido as a self-defense? I don't (and i say this as an Aikidoka). I said in another comment that i really love aikido because it is good for mind, body and soul.
You don't train to fight "dirty", so in my humble opinion it is useless as a self-defense. But very useful to calm yourself!

I had a lot of occusations to train with aikidokas and practiced aikijo and aikiken next to katori-shinto-ryu and traditional karate-do. 5:59 it is really strange to see master of aikido like Tissier, teaching shiho nage where tori and uke are in position "face to face", both bodies are front of each other !
Martialy speaking, this situation should never happened ! Otherwise you get good "wrist stroke" in the face before you finish the technic
    really strange
