My cousins, a friend and I took a day trip from Sydney, Australia to Anna Bay and Stockton beach to go 4 wheel driving over sand dunes. It was exhilarating, a new experience and so much as the passenger. The weather was a nice bonus and one of my cousins and I went sand boarding. It was my first time and fun, like sledding but on sand and had to put your arms back. We capped it off with a delicious meal.

If you know how to change the pressure in your tires and how to drive on dunes, you can go by yourself.
